I imagine (just imagine) that our Lord gets a kick out of our conjectures.

 

God: Hi there Paul, nice to see you today!

Paul: Oh wow! Hi there Lord - er I have a question...

God: Sure, go ahead.

Paul: Well, when you said in our bible that you stretched out the stars, did that mean that you just started at earth-zero and just kinda painted them light years away?

God:That is one way of putting it, Paul.

Paul: So lord, did you do it sort of instantaneously?

God: Well, Paul. If you had been there (and I will show you later) it would have probably measured about 3.7 seconds on your Rolex.

Paul: Wow! But I dont have a Rolex!

God: Ah, well in that case, it took no time at all from where I was standing.
