The software cant think for itself. The software can't suffer from depression either and decide to sacrifice itself and the lives of others! Consider how often computers crash. Consider how often faulty gps directions have sent people far astray, recently with fatal consequences. Consider how often it gets hacked. Do you really prefer pilotless planes? Guest shiloh357
A computer pilot can be hacked and flown to a different location or into a building or crowded stadium. It could be turned off altogether over a busy metropolitan area fall out of the sky like a rock. There are some jobs that cannot be off-loaded to technology. They start to think for themselves and then what? Actually some of our supposedly smartest people are really concerned about that...... They are saying that we should not create artificial intelligence. Steven Hawkins and Bill Gates are among those people. When they do get smarter than humans they will treat us like pets, or worse decide the planet is better off without us.

I trust the computer more than the human. I hope to be around for driverless cars.
