Actually, they boycotted the buses and public transport.   They stopped riding the buses and this caused a revenue problem in Montgomery.   MLK had marches and sit-ins.   They did not cause the kind of disruption that we see here.

This  can't be compared to MLK.    They did not impede ambulances and the fire department.      They didn't stop people from being able to get to work, by blocking entire intersections and screaming obscenities and so on.   They faced REAL injustice.    These protesters just want everything handed to them.   They break the law and then falsely claim injustice when the law holds them accountable.

This  is not a civil rights movement.   To even try to compare this to the MLK marches  offensive.   MLK had a real cause. In his day there was a real problem with segregation, and huge problem with racism in the US.

It's not the same, today.   This is a case of police misconduct and they should be prosecuted  This is not a civil rights issue.   This is an issue of criminal behavior by the police.   Burning down businesses and shutting down the city is NOT correct response to that.    Why make everyone else pay for what these policemen did???   Why should a guy who just wants to feed his wife and kids lose his job because of what happened to Freddie Gray???

This is just a reflection of what some influential black Americans cite as the self-destructive culture that infects the  black community in the US.    Blacks have waaaaay  more opportunities than they did when MLK was marching.    Baltimore is practically run by blacks.   It's Mayor is black,  the Police Department in Baltimore has more blacks than whites on the force.  This is not a civil rights problem.

The blacks of today are not persecuted like they were in the days of MLK and they do not have the right to hijack his legacy to justify their immature, lazy, barbaric attitudes and practices.   It is not even close to what happened in MLK's day.

The prophet inspired by God warned us all that no form of government would ever work. God created us to be free, whenever you put a ruler or authority other than God above any human being, it will result in chaos, distinction and sorrow. There is only one form of government that works and that's an anarchists system comprised of god fearing creations.

no, not exactly. God warned of having monarchies... of having government ruled by a king. but God never intended society to be free from authority. God was the one who placed judges over His people. His people didn't want judges, they wanted kings. they got what they asked for... rulers appointed by flawed humans rather than by a divine God. and that is what we are still dealing with all these years later.

but God is not an anarcist. to make such a statement is a misunderstanding of scripture.

There is only one leader or governor of life and society and that's Christ the prince of peace. We were not created to be governed or overseen by any other human being. Christ resides and governs from within, there's no external system or people that can accomplish what Christ alone is predestined to. The point of there being elders and leaders within our churches is because we all have to reach the fullness of Christ. A system of judges and an hierarchy was and is for the purpose of leading the people back to God. Maybe you have a misunderstanding of the word "anarchy", or maybe I do...idk. But I do know we were created to be free with the only rules and judges appointed to us is suppose to be the indwelling son of God.

I believe God's purpose for society and humanity was complete absence of any external rulers or government. If Adam and Eve would of never ate the fruit that's what the world would be today.

That's actually false. The Bible does indeed tell us to submit to earthy authority, I.e. worldly governments, unless what they tell us contradicts scripture. To willingly disobey those put in authority over us when what they're telling us doesn't contradict scripture is in and of itself direct disobedience of Gods commands. Look up 1 peter 2:13 if you do not believe me.

BE,

The Freddie Gray incident is being is being hi-jacked by those who are anti-establishment and ant-law enforcement.   Just like you had with the Ferguson riots, they will probably start bussing in radical Muslims, and communists and whatever else they can find, to fill the streets in these  so-called  "protests."

These are not real protests and  you seem really proud about all that is happening.  But,  it needs to be understood that since last fall, these protests haven't really done any good.  The United States isn't perfect, but we are not a racist nation and blacks have it really, really good here.   The opportunities are the same for everyone.   In the US, the only person keeping you poor and dumb, is you.   We have a plethora of programs for less fortunate people to help them help themselves if they would take advantage of them.

These are not genuine protests.  You want to know how intelligent, thinking, civilized human beings protest???   When we protest, we file a petition.  We schedule public debates and townhall meetings and perhaps we go and stand in front of the organization we protesting, and we link arms and make our voice heard to them.

As intelligent civilized people we do not:

1. Destroy and loot businesses and call it "protests."

2. Injure police officers

3. Set buildings on fire

4. Destroy businesses

5. Block intersections and impede ambulances and fire trucks from being able to help people who need medical or emergency attention (in the name of "peaceful" protests)

6. Impede public transportation (in the name of "peaceful" protests)

7. Block the streets and end up causing people not to be able to get to their jobs and risk being fired. (in the name of "peaceful" protests)

8. Make everyone else's life miserable (in the name of "peaceful" protests)

These "protests"  do not accomplish anything.  These protests do nothing to advance any cause.  They are simply a bunch of selfish, barbaric, immature people with nothing to do who want to cause trouble.   If they wanted to protest, they would do it the right way instead acting like animals.

They can chant about  Freddie Gray all day long, but ultimately it has nothing to do with him.  These are not rational people, and frankly  I think it is appalling that anyone supports these protests.   They are not real protests and should be shut down.   These people, peaceful or not, are really nothing more than terrorists.  And they should be treated like terrorists.

When you start injuring police officers and damaging property and looting other people's property, you have lost your right to have a voice.   You have nothing to say and need to be shut down.

The protesters, in general, do not support violence or burning things down.

I'll remind you that MLK organized many marches that blocked off traffic, he was also very disruptive.

The Montgomery bus boycotts involved people filling up buses and preventing people from using public transportation to get to their jobs.

There is a long history of disruptive protests in the civil rights movement.

If they blocked off traffic in past protests with MLK that is totally different than tearing the town apart.MLK would be very unhappy if he knew about all this violence. There is always the option to have a peaceful protest.

tearing the town apart.....      out of 50,000 structures in that city they set fire to 15......      not exactly tearing the town apart....          tragic for a very few, yes......     but tear the town apart???         watching CNN one would have thought so until one realizes that they showed the same two buildings burning for two and a half days....

ten to fifteen thousand people protest and about a hundred or so riot and loot......    and most of them were arrested before it was over....

I still say the media is blowing this all out of proportion and destroying any sympathy that we might have for a dead man.....   and it's kind of sad.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
