Bopeep,

People have explained that they have firearms for preparednesss' sake in case someone were to attempt to harm them or their families.   You have called that fear.

But it is the same sense of preparedness that leads us to buy homeowner/flood/fire insurance, car insurance.   It is the same sense of preparedness that leads us to buy health insurance if we get ill or need surgery.

So do you see preparedness as "fear"  when people buy insurance in case of property damage or health problems???

It's a pretty easy question to answer.   Does trusting God mean that we don't make practical preparations for emergencies?

Satan does love fear.It makes God less powerful to us.

Who is afraid?

If you are not afraid then why carry a gun?

why do you keep saying that we carry a gun out of fear? we have been over this bopeep, we dont carry out of fear. So please stop accusing us of that, it is false.

I do not see it on the same level as buying insurance. We are required by law to have auto insurance. Some people look at life insurance as not having enough faith.

you just did accuse us of being afraid, in the post you just quoted. You asked "if you are not afraid then why carry a gun?" after weve explained to you its not out of fear. You are accusing us of living in fear. I am telling you that is false. You want to have your view, thats fine, but don't get offended when we tell you were not. It doesn't work that way, if you want us to let you have your view, then don't make such accusations in the first place. If you make them, dont get mad when we tell you your wrong. I dont carry out of fear, and since I know why I carry, and you dont know what Im feeling, you have no real ability to know what I feel, or why I carry, other then what Ive told you-and ive told you multiple times that Its not out of fear, or lack of faith, and it is false for you to keep accusing us of doing so. And even if you dont list names, if you say "it shows a lack of faith to carry a gun" then its an insinuation that those who do lack faith, and yes were going to challenge you on that.

Yeah, you are accusing us of living in fear and you are doing it in a passive aggressive way.    You keep responding with statements about fear.

Insurance is all about being prepared for an emergency.   So is having a firearm.  There are bad things and bad people out there.   And being prepared for it is not fear.   you want a one-sided conversation where you can call owning a gun as being fear based, but then get irritated if we challenge you.

Proverbs 16:28

28 A perverse man spreads strife, and a slanderer separates intimate friends.

Anyone see a certain pattern of tactic present here that is also present in a great many other topics by certain people? lol...

I think that perhaps this is being slightly passive aggressive to. the topic is firearms, not pick on people. My comments aimed at another member here was not out of malice, just to point out that she cant push her view the way she was and not expect people to disagree. this approach, while you didnt target anyone individually is far more as a passive aggressive attack. I would very much like this topic to get back on the subject, and not on the people therein, and I may have played a part of it, its getting out of hand.

Awww Pat. It's not an attack. It's an observation. I can tell when conversations are intentionally booby-trapped. That's all I'm saying. It happens. Always has, always will. It's not only in  this thread. It's in many others started by the same person. That person's been in my iggy box since I joined because there's no profit in taking part in conversations such as the ones I speak. This paragraph I could copy and paste into a dozen other threads, all for the same reason, and mostly the same people. I mean you can see anything once...twice...more... But when it's regular pattern? It needs to be identified.

I'm not saying hate anyone. As a matter of fact there are hidden reasons for all this that people need real help with if they'd just get honest with themselves. And it's available to them. Plenty of people care. Me, for one. I just hate to see good topics wasted on tactical verbage. But that was just me.

I just get tired of seeing the verbal see-saw.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
