You know there is such a thing as nudist camps.  :sneaking:

Sure, and I have never been to one. If they have a church, I would be willing to bet, that naked attendance there would be the exception, if it happens at all. I sure wouldn't want to sit on those pews!

I was walking home from school one day.I must have been in second grade.Someone had dropped a nudist camp magazine along the road.My friends and I got a different education that day.  :cool2:

I imagine we all got educated in ways our parents would have been appalled over, partly due to not educating us as they should have (which I completely understand their hesitancy to do so... I don't envy parents for this and lots of things I have been spared as a non-parent).

Dr. Dobson spoke of "the talk" a lady gave her curious son one day after school who asked, "Mom, what is sex?" She sat him on the sofa and for the next grueling hour explained the mechanics and the heart dynamics of human sexual relations. Then she asked if he had any questions. With a furrowed brow the boy asked "How am I going to fit all that in the box on the field trip permission form?"

LOL

All she had to do was check "male" and say there are male (boys) and female (girls).

I remember how shocked I was and ashamed when my cousin explained to me what my parents did to produce me. Dad was madder than hell fire at him for telling me this (he wanted to tell me). When the time came to have the talk I just closed down I do not recall a word of it or if I even heard him. I was so embarrassed and disgusted with the act and let alone that my parents could do such things. I remember just wanting the discussion to end. So I could forget about it.

My mom never did tell me about the birds and the bees. But I found out.I was shocked.I thought....ewwww....my mom and dad do that?gross.

How does a man dress when he is dressing inappropriately?

Checkered Bermuda shorts, no socks, leather half sole house shoes, and a dirty "t" shirt... y' know, like all our Dad's did in the 1960's sporting the Drew Carey haircut and glasses.

:mgbowtie:

Wow!  If I saw THAT guy I'd definitely look the other way.  Ugh!

No,I wouldn't.He might be a great guy.I don't see anything that JohnD mentioned as inappropriate. And what about the person who looks like they are homeless.Tattered clothes and maybe does not smell the best. Why would that person be sitting in church?I wonder how many people would deny that person?

Alright, you guys. Enough. I was joking about the very ugly attire men wore in the 1970's and thought they were cool / casual...

It was a joke.

nnn-kay?

Okay; I thought you were describing someone you knew!  :happyhappy:

What is your take on appropriate Christian women attire? Down there in hot humid Houston...

Jeans, tee shirts, shorts (mid thigh), tank tops, not low cut.  It's weird here because it may be 95 outside and 65 in the office.  It's hard to dress for it.

Thank you. Good response.

And by it I imagine you are not trying to attract attention but wear what is simply comfortable.

So if guys aren't running into walls when they see you, it's no big deal.

And if there is a guy or several who do "check you out" you do not feel soiled by their attention.

I get it. And it is the kind of response I was hoping to get (making the point I was driving at).

Yepper.

And a lot of gals are getting ego boosts from turning heads.

It's complicated... yet it must needs be.

Without such a strong drive, the human race would have gone extinct long ago.

Why does it need to be?This drive is human nature yes,but it most never be taken a step farther outside a marriage.

This caught my attention:

"JohnD,

I can give you lots and lots of scripture that would make any woman showing anything above the ankle or below the chin out to be a whore.

Really? There are scriptures specifically stating that wearing anything above ankle and below chin makes one a whore. No, I'm really asking as I'm not sure. Can give me examples. Then I must be a whore then .. Gasps.

Tanusha, the status of men and women when held up to the requirements of the Law makes us all out to be vile sinners of the worst kind.

That was the point of the Law.

But in Christ, we appear in God's eyes to have the righteousness of Jesus.

That's the beauty of Grace.

God bless.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
