inchrist I very much appreciated your post.      I am not actually arguing man needs satan to sin.   I was simply arguing in relationship to those who believe there will be no sin in the millennium because satan is bound for "a thousand years" and they believe the presence of sin now is proof he is not bound now.  I was using their logic to counter their logic.   Perhaps I did not make it as understandable as I had hoped.   :)

Was Lucifer absolutely necessary for our first parents to fall into sin?  I can't say.

But from that point on, all have been born with a wounded human nature inclined to sin.   We need no help to sin.

Now, your mixing genres.  Satan is literally bound and cast into the abyss for 1,000 years.  There is no symbolism in that text (except what you and littleflower try to manufacture.

The Psalmist speaking figuratively about his emotional state.   There is a difference.  If you were a Bible believer, you would understand the difference.

There are many, many, many, many bible believers who just shake their heads at what you believe about end times.

One's eschatology is not what defines one's christianity.

And this is where you do err.

Even the early chrsitians understood this Shiloh.

sorry but that's just not true.   as several posters have pointed out, simply and from scripture, in the last few weeks,

and as no one anywhere who agrees with the very wrong roman doctrines and practices can clear anything up,....

instead

of clearing things up,  it just becomes more and more confused and in error whenever a

very wrong roman belief or practice is advocated, held to, or given any credit.

the roman group has been the most vicious persecutor of the true believers

ever since constantine and all over the world right up to today.

stick with simple scripture,  and don't fall for any of those errors.

I find it strange you and shiloh are the only ones bringing up the Catholic Church.

No one else is talking about it.

Actually, one's eschatology says a lot about one's Christianity.

Only to those who eschatology dictates their christianity.    Fortunately, those for whom it does so are very few in number.

Eschatology reveals a lot about where a person's faith rests.   Eschatology is not a peripheral matter.  It is intimately connected to church doctrine including holiness.  It is also connected to the integrity, infallibility and inerrancy of Scripture.

Those who hold to amillennial or preterist positions generally do not place much stock in the inerrancy or infallibility of Scripture.  For them, the Bible doesn't really mean what it says, and everything is up for interpretation.   They rely on subjective opinions, human traditions and they filter the Bible through those traditions.

The book of Revelation makes a hard connection with the Gospel.   Your approach to Revelation diminishes the Gospel presentation it makes.  Revelation is not about satisfying our curiosity about the future.   If that were its goal, it failed.   The purpose of Revelation is to present the Gospel in the light of Christ's return and it ends with one final invitation from Christ to the sinner to be saved.

Your treatment of Revelation is filtered through unbiblical traditions and not through sound doctrine.  In addition, eschatology pivots on how one views Israel in the last days.  Given the anti-Semitic spirit of your views on Israel in other threads, we get a good glimpse of your "Christianity"   which amounts to a wholesale rejection of the plain teachings of Scripture.

Those who don't care about eschatology, generally speaking, do not live devoted Christian lives.   You will never find a true follower of Jesus who doesn't long for Christ's return.   So yes, there are several ways a person's eschatology will reflect their Christian profession of faith, or lack thereof.

Even in the early church, shiloh, when chiliiasm was held to by some in the 2nd century, it never defined one's christian faith.

Justin Martyr, who was a chiliast made a very clear statement about those who did not believe as he did

"many who belong to the pure and pious faith, and are true Christians, think otherwise

Chapter LXXX.—The opinion of Justin with regard to the reign of a thousand years.

http://www.ccel.org/ccel/schaff/anf01.viii.iv.lxxx.html

Holding to any form of premillennialism was never a test of authentic christianity until very modern times and only in small groups, which apparently you run in.

You err greatly.

Why do you keep usurping the role of God by sitting in judgment over the lives of other people?

Isaiah 61:1   The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Isaiah 61:2   To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

Isaiah 61:3   To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Isaiah 61:4   And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

SPIRITUAL WASTE PLACES WHERE THERE WAS NO TRUTH.  THESE FORMER DESOLATIONS WILL BE REPAIRED.

Isaiah 61:5   And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
THE RESURRECTED SAINTS ARE THE "STRANGERS".  THEY WILL FEED ISRAEL WITH TRUTH.

Isaiah 61:6   But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

ISRAEL WILL BE THE PRIESTS OF THE LORD, AND MINISTERS OF GOD.  THE RICHES OF THE GENTILES THEY SHALL EAT IS WHAT THE SAINTS HAVE EATEN ...TRUTH. THE WILL FEED ON TRUTH NOW.  THEY WILL BOAST IN THE GENTILES GLORY (THE RESURRECTED SAINTS) BECAUSE THEY HEARD THE WORD OF THE LORD AND WERE ACCEPTED.  THEIR GLORY IS THE LAMB OF GOD.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
