The transcript of the 911 call captured the plaintive caller's urgency and frustration, as well as the shocking response of Sanchez. Caller: (inaudible) I'm keeping him alive. Sanchez: Is he not breathing? Caller: Barely. (inaudible) Stay with me. Stay with me, okay? Good job, Jaydon. Sanchez: Is he breathing? Caller: He's barely breathing. How many times do I have to **bad word_tell you? Sanchez: Okay, do you know what ma'am? You can deal with it yourself. I'm not going to deal with this, okay? Caller: No, he's going to die. The call ends there.

Distraught callers come with the job....distraught callers often use abusive language. It's a normal stress reaction. It seems like hanging up like that should be some sort of crime when one is a 911 dispatcher. It was clearly not a prank...and the dispatcher knew it. So, the dispatcher was absolutely wrong and should be fired, but an ambulance did arrive 4 minutes later.

Had the caller phoned to report a 'real' emergency such as some Christian saying homophobic things or somebody criticising Islam, the dispatcher would have stayed on the line and sent cop cars, ambulances and the fire brigade to the scene quicker than you can "Mohammed". It sure would have been nice if the dispatcher told the lady that. This is not a lot different than calling 911 and getting the message "Your call is important to us....please stay on the line"
