There is little doubt that ghosts are real. There are so many documented sightings and experiences with this, even video and sound recordings. I have never seen one myself, although I think it would be exciting if it happened, although a little scary too.

My question is, what exactly are they? Where do they fit in? Some people see loved ones, almost saying goodbye. There are lots of accounts of people seeing the ghost of someone, doing whatever it was they were doing when they died.

I've also heard the explanation that people who die suddenly, don't "know" they are dead and should move on, so they keep hanging around.

I'm just wondering what thoughts there are on this.

God Bless

Steve

ok I'll bite :24:

Not that I haven't had some weird experiences...but my thought is to always turn away and pray.

Heres what cinched it for me...I'll try to keep it as short as possible. :24:

My sister believes her house is haunted. She claims there is a man a women and a little girl...she says they sit at the foot of her bed...and she was always telling me about this...non-stop. Then one time she tells me that the little girl was in her basement and she heard her crying...she said it made her feel really sad. So in turn I asked her this question..."T do you believe in God?" To which she answered yes....then I asked "Do you believe that God would leave an innocent childs spirit here to suffer?" To which she didn't give me an answer. But she doesn't speak to me about the ghosts in her house anymore.

Now I'm not saying this to be obstinate...I'm saying this because I truly believe you have to be careful. Somtimes I think a person can be decieved into believing their family members have come back. This is just one of those mysteries I guess

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Steve,

I believe in ghosts. I also believe that they don't want to cross over yet. Ghost can't hurt us and this is my opinion. They only scare us. I wanted to pursue a career in demonology but, I realized that wasn't my calling. I have practiced wicca and tried to contact the dead but was unsuccessful. See, not all people have the gift to see the dead. One day I might.

I don't understand the purpose of ghosts. What would they be doing here? Who are they? Demons playing games maybe. Every individual has from the time they are created until the time they die on this earth. There is no "unfinished business" a dead person would be able to complete.

When I was a new Christian, I saw a ghost. It was unmistakable and could not be explained away. I told that story more than I spoke of Jesus.

Then I read about a pastor who lost his daughter. One night, the daughters ghost appeared to the pastor and his wife. The wife called out to the ghost and smiled. The pastor rebuked it. The ghost "dissolved" into a vile ugly demon, its true appearance.

Now I understand what ghosts are: demons. They are not the spirits of those who are dead. The bible tells us that when we die, we are with the Lord (if saved) or in hell (if not saved). We are not allowed to be on this earth wandering. So why would a demon trick me into thinking I saw a ghost? Simple. It spoiled my witness for Jesus. It caused me to speak of spirits on earth. What better way to take away from Jesus than to have a believer speak of ghosts, to lead people into thinking that it is possible to live on earth instead of heaven or hell. Dont be fooled. Ghosts are not the spirits of those who have died.

Our focus should be on the Lord.

My thoughts exactly Hubertsorm,

There is no doubt that there is spiritual activity all around us. I too see them as demons. They are not caught up in this realm of time as we are as they are already in eternty

I believe they observe what we do and I also believe that they imitate our loved ones who have passed on as well imitate our men and woman of history. They do this in order to decieve mankind into thinking that life continues on the otherside as here and to keep our eyes off the Lord.

Many believe in reincarnation and such because of these "loved ones" appearing to them. The scriptures say that to be absent from our bodies is to be present with God.

There is also the story that Jesus told of Abraham and the rich man and poor man on different sides of hades, which I believe is relevant here. The full context can be found in starting with Luke 16:22, but I think

Luke 16:28-31

28 for I have five brothers--in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

29 "But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.'

30 "But he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!'

31 "But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.'"

Now I could be reading this wrong, but it appears that Abraham is telling the rich man that it is the living among men and not our loved ones who have passed on to the otherside that God sends to warn mankind or to explain what it is like on the otherside as far as that goes. So I agree that what we call ghost, are actually demons or perhaps in some cases angels.

In Jesus

Kevin

Hi Constant.

The practice of trying to contact the dead and wicca and any other occult practice is NOT of the Lord. Presumably, these were practices in your past that you have long since repented of.

The only opinion that truely counts, is the truth. The Bible shows us really clearly that we should not have anything to do with contacting the dead. As Ayin Jade has said, all so-called ghosts, apparitions, spirits, are normally associated with decieving spirits attempting to draw people into practices that they should never participate in.

:blink: I agree 100%!! I was going to also say that I don't believe "ghosts" are spirits of humans who have passed away. I think that Satan and his demons are deceivers and want to appear like innocent little children who have died or whatever to confuse us. You know, a wolf in sheeps clothing......don't be fooled is right!

I would have to think also that if many are demons, many have to be angels as well.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
