that is what the Bible tells us, by looking at a map and looking at description of where Eden was, you would be very close to it.  as far as where it stands now, only God knows how we can get there, and well, the maps do not show anything that has to do with Eden even close to Jerusalem other then the land is neighbors of Iraq.

The question is, "If Eden was in Israel, how does this effect the way we understand the rest of scripture?"

No one knows where Eden was because the whole earth was covered by 2 miles of dirt and rock after the flood.

I know this is the standard creation science perspective, but it

Noah also had food for the animals on the Ark. It is likely that the Lord gave him instruction to store enough for several months more then jus the time on the ark. The seeds, etc from these plants was more then enough to plant, and whatever he didn't have, God provided. Remember, he only had one pair each of carnivorous and other unclean creatures, and seven pairs of clean animals.

What did Noah feed to the carnivores?

Hmmm . . . maybe that's what happened to the unicorns! :whistling:

Dear WhySoBlind

The implied purpose in the Biblical text for Noah to send out the birds in the Great Flood Narrative was to find dry land. The dove that came back with a leaf didn

The first three chapters of Genesis are far more than unassuming folklore, devised to amuse and instruct our youth with mythological tails of earth's origins, and humanities fall from innocence. In the context of Eden's Israeli location, they are a mountain cast into a calm sea! They are the first wave, which moves and ripples throughout the pages of scripture, and echoes into the heart of the Adam in all of us. They are a roadmap that permeates the Bible and is entrenched into our very sub consciousness, providing landmarks and beacons to chart our way back home.

The river of Eden will flow again! And when it flows, all the Jewish people will see their Messiah and Believe. See Here

Actually most biblical scholars believe it was in Iraq

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I was studying not too long ago somewhere in the Bible and God led me to see that Eden was in Iraq and Iraq is Babylon, so I wondered if life was not only created there but if that is where it will end. Any thoughts on this? That would be so God, would it not to have life begin and end the same place?

I responded a few times earlier in this thread as to why I do not believe Eden was in Iraq. Check them out! There are two trees in this story of beginnings - one was great and majestic (Ezekiel 31) and the other was just a tender shoot (Isaiah 53:2). Eden's river will flow again (Ezekiel 47) and when it does, the Jewish people will see their messiah and believe (Zechariah 14). Do you really think that these images we see here first in Genesis 2 and then permeate the rest of the Bible would have any significance if they were anywhere else but Israel? New Biblical evidence for Eden to have been in Israel can be found here:

if Israel (Jerusalem) was/is where the Garden was, why are you the first one to ever come up with this theory?

don't you think that with all the geologist, and all the others that have done and are doing research and studies on the anchient days would have come to the same conclussion?

Eden is gone from view, not to be seen by man until the Lord God totally restores it. until then it really does not matter where it was.

as far as the location being of interest, that is fine. just like the Ark of the Covenant's location being known........ when God says it is time, it will be revealed.

as for those that either believe or do not believe, something like that will not change their minds, they will try and find loop holes and excusses as to why they do not believe.

think about it also,

believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, is not enough for salvation, for even satan believes that, having, taking accepting Christ Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior is what is needed. being that He is the Lord over me, i do as He says, for He is my Lord, and then I walk in His graces........

God created Adam for companionship.

God wants a one on one relationship with each of us, as He had with Adam, as He had with Abraham, as He had with Noah, as He had with David. and many more thru out the history. we are too busy being caught up in peticulars, we are too involved in rules to see the Lord when He is standing right there in front of us....

I agree that the Lord has buried (or hidden in some other way) Eden - that is, the Garden of Eden.

I am not so sure the Old Garden of Eden will ever be restored though.

Here is my reasoning -

Rev. 21:5 - Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new."

Rev. 22:1,2 - And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
