Atlantis most certainly existed, according to the lore of many ancient peoples, from the British Isles to Hibernia, to both North and South American Indians, to the Greeks and the Egyptians, etc. But clearly, you have not read either of the above books.

No one has cited more scholarly references than Velikovsky to back up their works. Try reading Earth In Upheaval, and see; and don't rely on the opinions of others.

If you want to accept the history of the world as promoted by professional academics -- who were the ones most embarrassed by the works of Velikovsky -- then you will not be able to accept the history provided by the Bible, which history academia has rejected for centuries. And they are continually proven to be wrong, when new archaeological digs and scientific research back up the biblical account; just as they have backed up much of Velikovsky's works. (For just one example, why has beach sand been found at depths up to 18,000 feet below sea level on the Mid-Atlantic ridge, if it was never above sea level?)

you are not serious are you?  at best atlantis refers to the pre-flood world and no i haven't read those books but have endured many others and t.v. specials on the topic.

No one has cited more scholarly references than Velikovsky to back up their works. Try reading Earth In Upheaval, and see; and don't rely on the opinions of others.

archaeology has never supported V. and you will have to provide credible, legitimate links to real websites that state that discovery. I know of submerged cities around the word that are 400 feet or so under the water but not 18,000.

sand is everywhere it it is not evidence for anything.

Atlantis?  Look at 'Giant Central' Sardinia could well be the remaining portion of Atlantis   There are more pyramids and megalithic structures, and giants bones there than any place on the planet.

Hi guys. I think that a lesser flood is mentioned in Jasher. I might be wrong here, but finding all kinds of stuff mixed on the planet's surface is not surprising.
At the time of the flood, I think that major upheaval on a continent-size of scope would have been the order of the days. Not just gentle rain, but massive upheavals. If there was an ice canopy (UV filter) that crashed down also, then the whole planet would have been horribly upset. Perhaps enough to tilt us 23.5 degrees off as well. Someone speculated that huge dirt/ice/vegetation masses the size of Texas were sluicing and crashing around the planet as at the time of the waters of the deep burst forth. Not little geysers either, but huge explosions of rock and water and sediment shooting up for several miles, then to come crashing back down adding to the awful mix.

Someone reported clams near the summit of Everest.

Now I do not know this for certain of course, but if you could follow a histogram of the earth's 'wobble' it may be possible to trace the earth's precession backwards in time to point of likely origin.

With more water on the planet's surface after the flood, then the previous land bridges would be now submerged. It would be an interesting idea to guess how high the planet-wide waters have risen since Atlantis and other ruined cities were submerged. Now the earth has roughly 4/5th of the surface as covered by water. It would be an idea to lower that by a few hundred feet to see what is exposed, using current elevations below MSL.
