The Forbidden Fruit

It was the only fruit of its kind in the garden.  It was not a common fruit and certainly not anything we eat today. I don't know where the idea came from that it was an apple.

I had a read. The writer of that article is full of errors in my opinion.  It wasn't the fruit that was evil, because every fruit got made was good.  It was disobeying God that was evil.  If God had told us what fruit it was, then men would of for sure created a religion banning this fruit!

Genesis 1:12   And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

"An Apple A Day (Nursery Rhyme)"

An apple a day
Sends the doctor away
Apple in the morning
Doctor's warning
Roast apple at night
Starves the doctor outright
Eat an apple going to bed
Knock the doctor on the head
Three each day, seven days a week Ruddy apple, ruddy cheek

The purpose of this thread is to show that some stories of the bible from old movies and books has not been depicted accurately, but fabricated, simply because the story delivered came out of the world, and not from the very mouth of God himself.  We should check everything out.

I am currently bringing a relative to Christ, and one of her first questions to me was about the prostitute Mary, which is why I started the other thread to show that what we've been told is not accurate.

God bless.

I think that the type of fruit is not important, but the command to not touch the fruit of that tree is

.  The world like to focus on the fruit and spread rumours, but don't concentrate on the command which is what really matters.[/quote]

There was no command NOT TO TOUCH the fruit.  The command was NOT TO EAT  -- "thou shalt not eat of it" (Gen 2:17). "Not to touch" was Eve's invention (Gen 3:3) which was adding to God's words, just like Satan came up with his own inventions (adding to and subtracting from God's Word) regarding this tree and this fruit.

It was a literal fruit, but probably not related to any of the fruits we see in this world today.
