could church ever be like it was when the apostles walked in the history past ?

that would be great , I love fellowship and talking about Gods word,

but its hard to find a church dedicated to scripture and the meat and potatoes of the word,?

maybe it is.  read ACTS , Ephesians, Revelation >>> see what it was/ like then . what is written ? ((BEAUTIFUL !!))

A few believers compared to multitudes of sinners.

A few believers gathered together in homes, sometimes behind locked doors !!!! ((like today))

see ??

:) well i'd rather seek the Lord in a desert and find Him then stand before him only to find out there are no places in heaven given for warming benches listening to false teachers on Sunday.

Psalm 63

1 A Psalm of David, when he was in

the wilderness of Judah.

O Elohim, You are my El; I earnestly

seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my

flesh longs for You, as in a dry and

weary land without water.

2 Therefore I have seen you in the

holy place, seeing Your power  and

Your glory.

3 For Your loving-kindness is better

than life; my lips give praise to You.

1 To the chief musician. A Psalm of

David.

O Elohim, hear my voice in my

complaint; guard my life from the

dread of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the counsel of those

who destroy,  from the tumult of

evildoers,

3 who sharpen their tongue like a

sword; they tread their arrows, a bitter

word,

4 so that they may shoot at the

innocent  from a lurking place;

suddenly they shoot at him, and fear

not.

excerpts from Hebraic Roots Bible.

Well I haven't been active in this thread for I can see all sides of it.   for a long time I wasn't attached to a church though we looked high and low for what I considered a church that taught all the Bible.....     We settled on a Nazarene church not because of it's doctrine, but because of the love the members had for one another.....   and the love they show us even though we can not in good faith join their church.

In the near future I think we are going to need each other for support, both spiritually and physically and it would be much harder to be by yourself......   the dark side always knows where you are and being by yourself in the desert is not as safe as with a group of spirit filled Christians.

Just my $0.02

How can I say that I love God when I don't desire to be around His children, or those with whom He, also, dwells?

One of the most offensive things a professing believer can say is that they love Jesus, just not His followers (with whom the Spirit of Jesus indwells).

I have actual blood relatives I cannot stand to be around and very rarely see them because of this.  Being family does not mean you have to like everyone.

You cannot love them if you don't like them. So, to, you cannot claim to love God if you don't love the God in them.

I cannot agree with this, you can surly love someone that you do not like.  Jesus told us to love our enemy, and one does not like their enemy.

Are you really attempting to compare fellow church members with being your enemies?

You misunderstand the Middle Eastern concept of love. It is not the Americanized version of cotton candy, warm fuzzies, and puppy dog eyes. Love, there, is an action. Read the next few verses. DO this. DO that...an action.

I am attempting to show that you can love someone and not really like them at the same time.

Let me give you a real life example.  I have a cousin that is 1 year older than me (so early 30s),  we were friends growing up as much as seeing each other 3 times a year allowed.  Since we both became adults he has become a womanizing drunk.  He is on his 3rd marriage and brags about cheating on his current wife after an afternoon of him drinking beer like water.  I do not like him, he is rude, foul mouthed sexist pig. But he is my family and I do love him and I try to help him when we are together and have even pulled out butt out of the frying pan when he was about to go to jail for writing bad checks (though I wont do it again if he did not learn his lesson). This is a case of loving someone I do not like.
