How about being allowed to bring any book to work, except the bible?

You can bring a Bible to work with you. People do so all the time. Now, can you proselytize to others at work? No of course not, your not being paid to do that. Thats not persecution though.

My husband was given medical retirement within a month of this and did not pursue it. But yes, likely they were out of bounds to tell my dh he could not bring his bible. But that is besides the point. His work actually told him not to bring his bible to work! That is the point! And i read of a post here at Worthy where someone else had that same problem. once again, surely the employer was out of bounds, but again, that is besides the point.

But we need the full account here. How did they know that he brought his Bible to work? Was he proselytizing to others at work?

Actually he was not preselytizing at work, but say he was, should they ask him to stop proselytizing, or flat out not allow him to bring his bible? He was a supervising 911 dispatcher and worked in an open office. It would of been pretty hard for him to hide his bible.

Well there is true persecution and there is being made fun of and mocked.

We would fall more into the second camp, but that is what Christ said would happen. I do think we should prepare ourselves for future trails though. The more we seek to be part of the secular world, the more we will be disappointed when that world turns on us. The biggest danger in my mind to Christians in the US though is not currently overt persecution, but becoming subsumed into the culture that surrounds us. Although most of us are not Jews, and none of us are ancient Jews, God's handling of His people in those times is instructive. He told them to be a separate people with separate ways. Thus Jew's do exist today, while all of those who surrounded the Jews in Ancient Judea are no longer a people, they are all extinct as a people and a culture.

It may be time to begin to separate ourselves from this hedonistic culture. Ironically the more we attempt to separate ourselves the more true persecution we will probably face.

There is another side to this. Anyone can simply take a quick glance at this board and see where Christians mock and make fun of non-believers, those of other faiths, and groups like scientists all the time. Its a two way street.

Well to some degree. But let

1. Yes they should be able to stop you from proselytizing, just like they can ask you not to sell Amway at work, or do anything else your not being paid to do while you are there.

2. It is perfectly legal to bring a bible to work with you.

Not allowing a group to persecute others is not persecution. We are a Christian controlled nation. Virtually everyone holding any political power in this country is a Christian.

What's interesting about the above is that supposedly 85% of adult Americans ARE claiming to be Christians, in this nation, which WOULD include the leaders. So, why on earth, are we so anti-God in everything called government in this country??? Maybe it's because we are a psuedo-Christian nation.

And the surprise will be that the TRUE Christians, will be persecuted by the psuedo Christians and the psuedo Christian govt....it's already taking place folks.

The last post from the What Is Truth thread:

Amen Sister,

I would just add, that it will be 'professing christian' against 'real christian', tares against the wheat, those who draw near to Jesus with their lips against those who love him with all their heart, mind, soul and strength and keep His commands.

God Bless you

Dennis,

What is Truth?

Isaiah 66:3 But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pig's blood, and whoever burns memorial incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations; 4 so I also will choose harsh treatment for them and will bring upon them what they dread. For when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, no one listened. They did evil in my sight and chose what displeases me."

5 Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word: "Your brothers who hate you, and exclude you because of my name, have said, 'Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy!' Yet they will be put to shame.

Psalm 55:12 If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were raising himself against me, I could hide from him. 13 But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, 14 with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship as we walked with the throng at the house of God.

Jeremiah 9:6 You live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me," declares the Lord. 7 Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says: "See, I will refine and test them, for what else can I do because of the sin of my people?

In His Love,

Suzanne

If you think that CHristianity is persecuted in America as much as Jews in 1926, I cannot think how you could come to that reasoning unless you had a persecution complex of some kind. You have to ignore actual fact to a great degree.

Reality has a well known liberal bias. As does fact. From the FBI;

Religious Bias

Hate crimes motivated by religious bias accounted for 1,314 offenses reported by law enforcement. A breakdown of the bias motivation of religious-bias offenses showed:

68.5 percent were anti-Jewish.

11.1 percent were anti-Islamic.

7.8 percent were anti-other (unspecified) religion.

4.6 percent were anti-Catholic.

4.4 percent were anti-Protestant.

3.2 percent were anti-multiple religions, (i.e., groups of individuals of varying religions).

0.4 percent were anti-Atheism/Agnosticism.

Hate crimes, going by offenses by percentage of the population, are disproportionately against Jews, Muslims, and non-Christians in general. Looking at the trends, y'know who probably committed most of those hate crimes? People proclaiming Christianity. I doubt somehow the 15% (at most) percentage of the population that is non-Christian is committing most of those acts.

In America, if you loook at the facts, listen to the stories, it goes along with what logically happens in populations of any size. The Majority persecutes the minority.

Catholics Vs Protestants, for example. The KKK is virulently anti-Catholic, for the most part.

EXACTLY! Now you get my point.

Unless of course, the majority isn't really WHO IT SAYS IT IS!

Something's not adding up with regard to this nation! Is it?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
