Not allowing a group to persecute others is not persecution. We are a Christian controlled nation. Virtually everyone holding any political power in this country is a Christian.

What's interesting about the above is that supposedly 85% of adult Americans ARE claiming to be Christians, in this nation, which WOULD include the leaders. So, why on earth, are we so anti-God in everything called government in this country??? Maybe it's because we are a psuedo-Christian nation.

And the surprise will be that the TRUE Christians, will be persecuted by the psuedo Christians and the psuedo Christian govt....it's already taking place folks.

Why on earth would you want to mix religion and government? Why would people that don't trust the federal government to have a hand in running the elementary school down the street want the federal government to get mixed up with their faith?

Think about it, has there ever been a single theocracy in the history of civilization that had righteous government? Nothing ever good has ever came from mixing religion and government. All those in power do then is use faith as a tool to manipulate the people.

We have a pretty simply legal principle regarding religion and government in this country. It is that the government and its institutions cannot be used as a vehicle to promote, endorse, or compel specific religious beliefs. That principle has served us pretty well as we are the greatest nation in the history of civilization. Why change now? I mean come on, does anyone honestly believe that everyone will all of a sudden start acting better if we only put monuments to the ten commandments in court rooms?

Dear forrest,

I was commenting on "your" post. You said, that "We are a Christian controlled nation. Virtually everyone holding any political power in this country is a Christian."

MY question is, then why are they viewed as so "ungodly", in principles??? I mean if they ARE supposedly Christian? Why such ungodly laws being passed??? And tolerated by supposed Christian men? It's not adding up, if we are a Christian controlled nation, and virtually EVERYBODY holding any political power in this country is a Christian........ then WHY on earth don't we look like/act like it? Why aren't our laws reflecting that?

Again, I say, it's because it's "false" Christianity. IT's a deception.

Suzanne

But if you do visit any countries outside of the Western Industrialized nations, they are much more comfortable with religious faith in general. For example I worked for a time when I was much younger in Africa. To say something was God's will was considered a concrete notion there; it was a normal thing to say and believe, regardless of being at work or home or school. To say that here you are not taken very seriously. It goes back to having a form of religious faith, but let

I think a good theocracy could work, but not in the US.

Well, why do so many Christian leaders do such unGodly things?

I for one think that the majority of those in Washington regardless of party affiliation are fundamentally decent people. Sure, you have your bad apples, but most of them are trying to make a positive difference.

Grace to you,

Forrest,

So you place more faith in the Government than you do the Church of Jesus Christ? :noidea::emot-hug:

Peace,

Dave

By all means, let us keep the teachings of He Who is THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE out of our government!

The government will be MUCH BETTER run by secular men, and for secular ends! WE MUST NEVER, EVER ALLOW CHRISTIANITY TO BE OF INFLUENCE THERE! Imagine how dreadful it would be if our government were ACTIVELY CHRISTIAN!!!

Can anyone else hear a wolf in sheep's clothing in such arguments? Is it even thinkable that anyone who knows the Lord--or even has a SHRED of moral decency--could make such arguments? No. That friends, is the voice which will take us to the SAME FATE as the German Jews of the Generation that did not pay heed to the signs of the times in 1926! That is the voice that will have us silenced. That is the voice that will have us jailed. That is the voice that will have us and our children and grandchildren killed!

THAT friends, is the very voice of the anti-Christ, and all too often Christians listen to it.........

Actually he was not preselytizing at work, but say he was, should they ask him to stop proselytizing, or flat out not allow him to bring his bible? He was a supervising 911 dispatcher and worked in an open office. It would of been pretty hard for him to hide his bible.

1. Yes they should be able to stop you from proselytizing, just like they can ask you not to sell Amway at work, or do anything else your not being paid to do while you are there.

2. It is perfectly legal to bring a bible to work with you.

As to #1, what is that in response to? Where did I say they should not be able to stop him from proselytizing? :noidea:

#2 You're not getting it. Yes it is legal to bring your bible to work. The point is: My husband was told he could not bring his Bible to work. Though that should not happen, does not mean it does not happen.

Grace to you,

Yet you hold more contempt for the leaders of the Lords Church than you do the very Government that persecutes the Lords Church?

Granted I agree that if the Church would get her House in order that the Government would follow.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
