It is news that has potential to affect all of our lives (those of us who live in America anyway). Whether or not you agree with Gilmore's position, his case could have far reaching implicaitons. I think most of you will not find it surprising that I wholeheartedly agree with Gilmore's challenge, but that is not why I posted the article here. Agree with Ashcroft, agree with Gilmore, it's an important issue nonetheless.

It deals with our privacy...so explain to me how it is important again. Privacy, if you have nothing to hide, isn't really all that big of an issue. At least for me. I figure God arbitrarily spies on me, so why not the government?

While I agree with you that there is nothing that can be done about it now, I would say that God gave you a brain and common sense (at least some of us anyway) and I do expect that He expects us to use the common sense to help keep ourselves out of some perel. I do believe that he has warned us of the evil to come for a reason. If he expected to take care of everything and everyone Himself then why warn us to be alert..... why bother us with the details to worry about.

When he tells you of a hole in the road maybe, just maybe he expects not to have to pull you out of it when you fall from not paying any attention at all.

The article wasp osted for those who may care about privacy issues. If you do not care, please do not clutter the thread with pointless commentary.

Sam has it right, the Bible doesn't tell us about what is going to happen so that we can stick our heads in the sand and wait.

The only thing pointless is the article itself. It assumes that people inherently value privacy or that privacy is a good thing. Could it be possible that privacy might actually be a detriment to society? I am quesitoning the paradigm and values behind the commentary. If you consider this pointless, then you do not wish to think deeper than need be.

If you would know the US constitution the founding fathers thought privacy was an important enough issue. They incorporated it into the bill of rights. The next step won't be just airports it will be the street corner where we are asked for our papers please.

I just don't understand how anyone could possibly suggest that personal privacy is in some way detrimental to society.
