Congratulations on those who applaud another mystic - Therese of Lisieux...

continue  drinking the New Age Kool Aid.

There is nothing new age about Therese.  Perhaps you could supply some quotes to back that up my friend ;-).

Hiya @markdohle:)

Thanks for sharing! I think God delights in His creation. By His will everything that exists was created. Everything was created for Him too. And He called everything he created good.

We see this from Genesis to Revelation. Reminds me of these verses.

Genesis 1:31
And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Colossians 1:16
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

Revelation 4:11
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

I think you are onto something about talking about common humility and showing compassion to others. Seeing the beauty in each person God made is key too. Sometimes if we stop seeing everyone who doesn't believe as we do as God's enemies and instead as God's creation it may cause a shift in our thinking. God cares for the lost sheep and those found alike. Sometimes we like to consider ourselves more important sheep than others. As if somehow being found and trusting in God is something to boast of in our own strength.

Keep seeking God and sharing your heart in what God is teaching you.

God bless,
GE

Thank you my friend for your understanding.  I will continue to post, this is a very nice place with serious Christians posting here.

Peace
Mark

St. Therese of Lisieux

DISCALCED CARMELITE MYSTIC, DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH

Feast: October 1

and here...

http://christianmystics.com/contemporary/BrianRobertson/furnace.html

"I understood so well that it is only love which makes us acceptable to God that this love is the only good I ambition. Jesus deigned to show me the road that leads to this Divine Furnace, and this road is the surrender of the little child who sleeps without fear in its Father's arms."

-St. Therese of Lisieux

But you won't admit these things Mark, but only hope you can continue to spread your form of deception.

I don't understand how is this new age:

"I understood so well that it is only love which makes us acceptable to God that this love is the only good I ambition. Jesus deigned to show me the road that leads to this Divine Furnace, and this road is the surrender of the little child who sleeps without fear in its Father's arms."

-St. Therese of Lisieux

She taught total abandonment to the Lord Jesus, by using language of becoming a little child, which Jesus talked about as being needed to enter the kingdom of heaven.  So how is that a deception.....perhaps because her language is different from the expresssons used 2000 years earlier ;-).  Her teaching is ones total abandonment to the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.....that is new age?

Or is how this New Age:

I do not will that creatures should possess a single atom of my love; I wish to give all to Jesus, since He makes me understand that He alone is perfect happiness. All shall be for Him, all! And even when I have nothing to offer Him I will give Him that nothing. -St. Therese of Lisieux

I am not sure what you are getting at my friend.  The Catholic Church is christian, it doctrines are Christ Centered, and your actual roots are planted firmly in Catholic soil.  The scriptures were put together by the Catholic Church, yet you use them to condemn you fellow brothers and sister in Christ.

Peace
Mark

I originally said 'mystic' you questioned me by saying new age. Are you saying that new age is the same as mysticism?

If you can't see mysticism written all over that Furnace statement, you had better brush off your Scriptures.

Saint Paul was a mystic my friend, he even had a NDE, which he related in the third person.

"He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the LORD offerings in righteousness. (Malachi 3:3)

Or

Whether a person builds on this foundation with gold, silver, expensive stones, wood, hay, or straw,
each one's work will become obvious, for the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire; the fire will test the quality of each one's work. (1 cor 3:3)

So you do defend Christian mysticism?

Paul was an Apostle who received revelation from God in accordance with Jesus words and the other apostles as well as the OT Scripture.

Mystics claims words or messages from God which THEY claim is from God whether or not it accords with His Word.

If God can communicate with Paul, he can also continue to do that with others, as has been shown through out history.  Any 'mystic' that is accepted by the Catholic Church has to build off the Scriptures and not come up with something different etc.   We all have inspirations from God and the word mystic can be applied to humans who seek God in general.   In the early church the mystical gifts were welcome.  As it is in the Pentecostal movement today.  I understand your antipathy to such things, but it is your opinion only based on your personal interpretation of the scriptures.  For instance not all here agree with you, who are also Christians believers......

You still have not given your reason for believing that Theresa is new age my friend, your response about the furnace was not near enough.

I must disagree......"Catholic mystics" are deeply Catholic ,-- not particularly Christian --as Mysticism is not a doctrine taught in the Bible.

OK ;-).

I think animals have similar feelings and emotions as humans have. Even though God gave us dominion over them. They still have   awareness to them. My cat has a personality . Yet we mean more to God then many birds or cats. We are his children and animals cannot become his children.  But I think animals are still important to God.

The Apostles and Prophets have built off Moses' writings and their authenticity was marked by agreement with earlier writings and miracles done by their hands. Rome has no new revelation to share with the born again Christian as Scripture is sufficient.

New Age includes mysticism. Even Catholic websites showed her as a mystic.

She was a Mystic . Not new age at all. She never worship angels . She worship the holy Trinity.  Dont condem someone who followed christ.

I recommend the book "The Secret Life of Crows" to all crow lovers.  It originally was based on research by the University of Washington, but also incorporates some amusing anecdotes;  and it also includes other corvids.  I read it because I hated starlings and crows.  Starlings made nests for years above our bed and always found a way in after we patched their routes.  Crows would leave bird and animal body parts in our bird bath and scared away all other birds that nested nearby.  Then I discovered that starlings mimic other birds when they are making their awful din.  And crows--well the one I approached to scare away was a fledgling that just ducked because it didn't want to see the end come.  Its parents were raising a ruckus in a nearby tree.  Awwww.  It melted my heart. A baby!  More than one species of bird has learned to recognize the face of the people who banded it and even teach other birds to avoid them and raise a ruckus.

Birds can be amazing creations of God.  Some are beautiful.  Most are intelligent, and some are just delightful.  My own favorites are falcons.  We used to sit and watch them stoop at 250 mph for Rock Pigeons to feed their fledgling in the Columbia River Gorge.  And Gyrfalcons are amazing to watch: they fly faster than the eye can focus and at arm level when flying a quarter mile away from us at 90 mph.  They pursue their pay that way.  My husband's favorites are hummingbirds, which stole his fascination from helicopters to God's creation.

Wildlife is wonderful to behold, but none more so than human beings.  We are all made for Christ's pleasure, according to Collisions.

Now I have strong differences with Catholic church doctrine that is not based on Scriptures.  The earliest church fathers searched the Scriptures and backed their beliefs with Scripture.  But I have deep love for born again Christians of any denomination, and that is also true for Mark.  We are one in the Spirit, one in the Lord, and they will know we are Christians by our love.

Blessings,

Willa

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
