Constant: I will do a Google search on Mercy Me and see what they do. Thanks for the suggestion!

waitingforhim: Lots of great suggestions there, thanks. It may sound dumb but it never dawned on me to turn on the radio! That's how much I never listen to music!

Tilly: Thanks for the suggestion! I will check out "i worship" and see what they're about. I'm all about the praise and worship!

otherone: Thanks! I don't think those are my tastes, but you did remind me of some of the older - and I do mean older - music I like. People like Mahalia Jackson.

kraz4gsus: I've not heard of any of these artists, (no big surprise!) but I will check them out. Thanks!

nebula: I've heard good things about John Tesh. I've heard all the dumb jokes about his music, too, but when you consider the source...! I'll check him out. I do remember liking Michael W. Smith a lot when I first became a Christian. I've heard that he's on a real mission to worship the Lord and I like that. I'll definitely check out your suggestions. Thanks!

ZOEgirl: I'm definitely not into the rock sound, but I really do appreciate you taking the time to respond and help! Thanks for your kindness!

JesusisGod2: I'm familiar with Don Francisco's music and I really like him! I'd forgotten all about him. I didn't think his music would still be available, but I'll be hunting it down for sure! It also reminds me of another artist that I really like: John Michael Talbot. Are you familiar with him? Will look into the others you mentioned, too. Thanks for your help!

Hi again Keith. Just thought of some more music you could check out. The 'WOW' cd's are awesome.

Keith,

It depends on what music you think you would enjoy.

I like contemporary and rock music, but really don't like pop music.

So I find "rock" Christian bands like Jars of Clay, Third Day, and the Passion CD's.

But my all time favorite is a solo artist called Lincoln Brewster.

He is the best musician of any of the Christian artists. I suggest getting the "Live to Worship" CD.

Hi Keith,

Don still has his music ministry going strong, he goes all over the globe. He doesnt deal with record companies anymore because they wanted to limit his freedom of choice of the music he feels that God has led him to produce. He does everything at his home base at Rockymountainmimistries.com and like I mentioned you can get all of his old stuff. One Heart At A Time is another great cd.

I really like Terry Talbott and John Michael Talbott as well. I still have some music from when they were Mason Proffitt.

Richie Furay used to be with Buffalo Springfield and Poco before he got saved and man his music for God is powerful and full of the Spirit.

God bless you Keith,

Kevin

Hey Dime,

Lincoln Brewster. He used to be with the band Journey. It is amazing how many rock musicians are being converted to the Lord, give Him praise. If you can get any of the old Dion DiMucci cd's, they are great as well.

I am going to look into that Brewster album you mentioned.

Hey Keith, I love Casting Crowns, Stephen Curtis Chaoman, and there is this one girl I have just recently heard of named Hayley Westenra. She has the voice of of an angel, and I am not exagerating a tiny bit. Casting Crowns, and Stephen Curtis Chapman have really good songs that, I swear, con change alot of lives. I hope that helps you out a little. God Bless.

I know the question wasn't addressed to me, but I have some John Michael Talbot CD's.

And yes, his music is good! I have Songs for Worship, Vols. 1 & 2, Trabadour for the Lord and a couple others.

JMT is also one of those you know who's heart is in the right place.

I didn't know those things - that is really, really cool!

Thanks for the info!

I've never listened to Casting Crowns (that I know of), but I agree about Steven Curtis Chapman. He's got life changing stuff. All of his CDs are awesome, but if I had to choose, I would go with Speechless or Declaration. There's one song on Declaration that is one of my all time favorites. It's called Magnificent Obsession.

Then there's Free, Remember Your Chains, The Invitation..... Hmmm....think I'll put it on. :)

I know this may sound a bit odd, but I need help in choosing some worship CD's.

I've never been a "fan" of music for some reason.  I don't dislike it.  It's just never been a big part of my life.  I never play the radio and have never bought very many CD's.

I would like to start incorporating music into my relationship with God and need some recommendations for really good worship music.  Music that worships God for who He is.  Thank you in advance!

To want to turn and walk away

Since I met you those days are gone

Now I want to stay, and say

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
