Are the masses more or less ignorant today?

That's debatable, but I see your point.

The question is though - are our representatives any better?

if every state had equal population numbers and no major population centers, the electoral college would not be needed.  But as it stands, the Eastern  and mid-western states alone would determine who our president is before everyone on the west coast got to the polls.

But it seems like the states that have more electoral votes are the ones that get people elected. Once a candidate gets 270 elector votes, they win. So the states that only have 2 or 3 electoral votes most candidates don't even bother to visit them cause they want to win the states that have higher  electoral votes.  And I have seen once a candidate  gets the 270 he is declared the winner even though 2 or 3 other states votes have not been reported yet. Is there something I am missing here?  I will admit I just don't get it.

But states with the most electoral college votes are not clustered in one area of the country. They are in various parts of the country from east to west.  So it is not the same as having the majority population on long eastern seaboard.

This is what the future may hold... Imagine when Millennials are the majority voters one day...

doesn't work that way....   even with the Millennials  get older they will realize that the government is messing them over.

A good conservative Republican is just a dedicated Democrat that realized that he/she's been mugged by the government....

If the electoral college votes were split by % all people would still be represented. So

Here's another of many articles that explain why the populist vote is bad. It also suggest that states can change how they allocate their electoral college votes. Nebraska and Maine currently split theirs while all other states are winner take all.

God bless,

GE

It should be left to the states to decide how they want to handle their electoral votes. If it were split, then the same blue areas in shilohs map would dictate who won while the rest would have no say. I think the electoral college as it is, is just fine.

My personal opinion...

The "popular vote" numbers do not jibe with registered voters on the rolls.

In other words, fraud.

Which party is it that dug up voters in Cook County Illinois in 1960?
