Ok that looks good, both pics.

Trifle is layered spongecake with jam, dash of sherry, peaches, jelly, custard topped with whipped cream, grated chocolate,

Pavlova is a merengue topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit - strawberries, kiwifruit, mango....chocolate?

I would love to try the bugs, they look like prawns/jumbo shrimp, what do they taste like?

I've had chocolate covered bees n ants in a candy, they try like nuts,yum!

The bugs do look good. Like lobster or giant shrimp. I stopped eating crab and lobster because of the way they kill them. Very inhumane by putting them in boiling water alive. They do feel that until they die. So if that is the way they cook the bugs I would not eat them.

Lobsters don't have brains, anymore than wheat sheaths do, but both do have response mechanisms to "pain" don't they?

Well, they do not have vocal cords so the noise that many hear could be some kind of air that is escaping from their abdomen.

Of course there might be a better reason not to eat them- bottom feeders tend to pick up heavy toxic metals in their systems. Now I have consumed my fair share of Maine lobster, clams, mussel, and periwinkle too. But do not have an appetite for any of it  nowadays for the perception of the pollution they  ingest.

Decades ago we would gather clams and put them in a bushel basket  of corn meal for a day to clean them out- kind of a last meal, I guess. Sorry for the silly pun, just couldn't help myself.
