WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The percentage of U.S. adults who believe that God created humans in their present form at some time within the last 10,000 years or so -- the strict creationist view -- has reached a new low. Thirty-eight percent of U.S. adults now accept creationism, while 57% believe in some form of evolution -- either God-guided or not -- saying man developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life

So why post this in the Doctrinal forum?  Shouldn't this up in the Apologetic or Science forum?

This article isn't an apologetic defending either Creationism or Evolution.  I posted this here to show what happens when we reject the doctrines that surround the Word of God, itself.   When we reject the authority of Scripture, when we reject the Bible as our final authority, we end up compromising with the world.

The Bible is 100% inspired by God, and is 100% inerrant, infallible and immutable (unchanging).  But many in Christianity don't believe that anymore and as secularism has crept into the church, it has brought with it a diminished view of Scripture and the values that Scripture espouses.

We can see that in the way the Church has abandoned biblical morality, has accepted gay marriage, the LGBT value system, Evolution, and has rejected Jesus as the only way to God.    When we reject the authority of Scripture, then we see a lessening of biblical values.

The number one reason, I believe, why these false teachings are making their way into mainstream churches is we have abandoned sound doctrine and a commitment to the authority of the inspired, inerrant and immutable Word of God.   The results are disastrous.  The following statistics come Dr. Paul Elliot,  the Barna Research Group, Bible Literacy Center, and Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion.

1.      37% of adults in Evangelical churches do not believe the Bible is totally accurate

2.      45% of Evangelicals do not believe Jesus Christ was sinless

3.      52% of Evangelicals do not believe Satan is real

4.      57% of Evangelicals do not believe that Jesus is the only way to eternal life

5.      57% of Evangelicals believe that good works play a part in gaining eternal life

6.      Less than 10% of adults in Evangelical churches cite the Bible as the primary basis of their worldview and behavior.

7.      19% of those who are living with a partner outside of marriage are members of Evangelical churches.

8.      Over 50% of adults in Evangelical churches think other religions are valid.

9.      Nearly 75% of Evangelical young people leave the church when they reach adulthood. Their main stated reason is that they no longer believe the Bible is true, and the church has done little or nothing to answer their doubts.

10.  The fastest growing "religious group" in America is the "no religion" category. Today it represents 16% of the adult population - a 300% increase since the 1980s. The major growth of the "no religion" segment is among young adults ages 18 to 29 - the ones who are leaving churches in droves.

11.  Despite the mega-church movement, overall Evangelical church attendance is down nearly 15% since the 1990s. Fewer than 17% of Evangelical churches are growing today, and only 2.2% are growing through conversions.

And those are simply talking about evangelicals. It used to be that "Evangelical"  was a term you could trust to characterize sound doctrine, but that is no longer the case.

So, it is not surprising that fewer and fewer Christians are believing the Bible.  They are turning to the secular world to inform their values and their beliefs about the Bible.   They are now using science and secular values to judge the Bible, rather than the Bible being their final authority by which to judge the world's value system and scientific claims.

It is sad.

What is being seen is that many does not know, or do not want to accept the truth, there are things the world say about Jesus you will be shocked, but can easily deceive any who does not know Him.

We see people going to church only seeking to get their financial problem solved, the decreasing number of churches that preach the true gospel, talk about salvation, Jesus, etc.

People in the world often make fun of people and even hate who is not walking conforming to the world's standard of impurity. Forgiving people that owe you money, not talking bad about someone, not looking/talking about a woman with impure desires, rejecting a "favor" someone asked you because it is against the God's will, are discouraged by people in the world.

People have to make a decision in their hearts, read God's Word, repent of sins, accept Jesus in their heart and life, do God's Will, don't fear or get intimidated by the world, then any inappropriate relationships will eventually be gone or they will decide to follow your same path, or forget you and continue in the world that accepts their sin as normal.

Very, very sad. People need to wake up.

When you have thousands of different churches all claiming truth and all using the same bible. Is it surprising that relativism sets in?

This is not about them all claiming truth using the same Bible.  It's about rejecting what the Bible says in favor of secularism.

Edited to add:   It should also be pointed out that many Roman Catholics have compromised with the world against the Scriptures when it comes to Evolution as well.

Yes, but you attributed the problem to evangelicals getting their information from the Bible.  I was responding to that.  I was simply pointing out that the problem is not just evangelicals.

Even Roman Catholics are compromising with the world and turning to secularism as opposed to Scripture which pretty much torpedoes that this comes from holding to the authority of Scripture.   It stems from abandoning the authority of Scriptures and that includes Roman Catholics.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
