This is one prime example of the illogical nonsensical interpretations of scripture which paint an absurd, insulting and blasphemous mischaracterization ofGod. You do realize dont you that the redeemed also are going to be in the presence of God and angels forever? So the wicked are to be tormented in our presence...forever??!!! Seriously?

No, actually Hell is going to be a place of eternal, conscious torment forever.  It is not a mischaracterization of God at all.   We simply know Him and believe His Word.

And you truly believe that? Such entertainment will be joyful enrich our experience and enhance our appreciation of the love, mercy and grace of God no doubt.

Do you people ever seriously think about what you are saying? Come on all you who claim to know and understand God. How do you reconcile eternal torment with a just God? Think!

Hell is perfectly just.  And God would have been just if He had not provided a plan of salvation.  If God had wiped Adam and Eve off of the earth and ended the human race right there is the garden, it would have been the just thing to do because of sin, and sin MUST be punished.  And sin WAS punished when Jesus bore our sin on the cross.  God's punitive wrath was hurled against Jesus and He bore the full weight of the penalty of our sin on the cross.

God was under no obligation to save us.  He could have let us go to Hell.  Salvation is solely the product of His grace and mercy and not the result of any obligation upon Him.  God is not obligated to us, in any way shape or form.  So Hell comports with a just God who punishes sin.

How do you reconcile eternal torment with a God who has the power and will to eradicate sin from the universe? You seriously believe God plans to immortalize sin? Why? As a reminder of the pain He and His Son went through to take away sin and put down the rebellion?

Hell is the consequence of rejecting the salvation and mercy that God offers.  Those who choose continued separation will go to Hell.  God is not immortalizing sin.  God is exercising His wrath against those who chose to remain His enemies and rejected Him.

Oh right, no chance you would consider any other alternative doctrine on the Biblical punishment of the wicked...only cults like JWs and Adventists believe that way right? Nuh, too proud to consider that they may be reading the Bible correctly and you not.

No, the Bible is clear on the matter.  Simply choosing to believe the Bible and reject your arguments as unbiblical.

Sorry bout the sarcasm, but of all teachings this eternal torment error makes me so angry...because it insults my Savior. GET OVER IT!!!

It doesn't insult Him at all.  It actually honors Him because He spoke of those who would go into ever lasting punishment (Matt. 25)

What God says will be no matter your will in the matter...

Matthew 6:10 (KJV)

[10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Yes The Word does speak for itself in the hermeneutic... most don't even know what that is! Which seems you as well!

Love, Steven

Precisely. So why do you not believe what God has said? God says through Paul, that the wages of sin is....?

Jesus said Himself that "whosoever would believe in Him would not..?

Ezekiel said under the inspiration of the spirit of Christ, "the soul that sinneth it shall ...?

According to the modern church the same answer could be used in all the above...."live forever". What kind of hermenutic allows the so-called Bible student to interpret words such as 'death' and 'perish' in a manner which means exactly the opposite?

Men do not SPIRITUALISE other books or make every literal statement in the SYMBOLIC and MYSTICAL, and there is no excuse for us to do this with Bible truths.

Quite so. Question.

On what basis therefore given your statement above, do the majority of Christians stand when spiritualizing the following texts of scripture, redefining the meaning of death to mean eternal life, and claiming a continuing punishing throughout eternity when the text clearly states that the punishment is eternal, which is as Romans 6:23 says unequivocably..."the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus".

Ezekiel 18:4
‭Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.‭

Matthew 25:46
‭And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.‭

The punishment of the wicked and the rewards of the righteous are set in contrdistinction to one another throughout scripture. Death for one, life for the other. Both eternal.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
