The bible says that If we seek Him out He will find us. There is lots of proof if you listen to the testemony of the saved.

I was a seeker up until 1992, then suddenly I was approached by a friend. I can't remember what he said but all of a sudden it all made sense. I can't show you God but you can see His works all around you. I have another friend who envies my faith. He says he wants to believe but he can't get past the proof. with 100% faith, knowledge would be null and void. It's all about faith. Believe

Dear reynolds,

The fact that you say that you "want to believe" is in itself a beautiful thing. It is a reflection of God's grace that He is drawing you to Himself.

No one comes to Jesus unless the Father draws Him. (read John 6:44)

Many, if not most, of the folks here will admit that they have had, or have, moments and periods of doubt, or at least of questioning.

But we pray for strength to hold on, we pray for faith to believe what we cannot see with our eyes, we pray for mercy in our weakness, and we move on.

Even Peter doubted and questioned, but went on to die for his faith.

So, keep searching. And while you do, try praying for the gift of fatih.

Ask God to reveal Himself to you thru His Son, Jesus.

Like they say, "you gotta believe (at least a little) ---to see". ;)

Peace of Christ be with you,

Fiosh

and how do you know it was 'gods opinion' were you there? i think not

my best friend is gay does that make him a bad person, he helps people (he is a nurse) just because he is gay does not give you the right to judge people, who are you to say what is right and wrong?? being gay is "supposedly bad" because society does not accept it it has nothing to do with god

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

rekynolds20,

We are all bad people. None of us good. We are all, in God's sight, sinners. We are all poor, sinful, wretches who deserve nothing from God but His judgement.

However, God in His mercy did not give us what we deserve. Instead He sent His Son, Jesus to bear in Himself our punishment. Jesus took all of God's wrath and hatred of sin, so that we would not have to.

God loves you and your friend who is a homosexual, but He hates homosexuality. What we are saying is not based upon societal sensitivities, but upon the very Word of God itself. (Leviticus 18:22-28; Deut. 23:17-18; 1 Romans 1:24-32; 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Tim. 1:8-11; Jude 1:7)

God is very clear where sin is concerned. God hates sin, but He loves each of us, and wants what's best for us. God wants you and your friend to repent of sin, turn from it completely, and receive Jesus as your Savior.

As for judging, we cannot judge the heart of a person, only God can do that. We can, however, judge that which God Himself has already judged. We can call homosexuality, "sin" and we can call it an "abominiation" becauase God calls it that.

all i see when i look around me is death and pain, people dying young is that gods work??
No, it is not God's work. All of this is a product of man's sin. Poverty is a product of man's oppression against his fellow man. Pain is inflicted because of man's hatred for his fellow,

Man works so hard to keep God out of his affairs, and would prefer to relegate the knowledge of God to the dustbin of history. After man has got done destroying himself, and each his neighbor, and has to bear the fruit of the evil he has perpetrated, who gets the blame? God. They want God out of their lives until it is time to take responsibility for their actions. They pull God out of the closet to be the scapegoat. Its funny how "there is no God," until things get messed up and out of control, and then God is blamed for the fruit that was produced out of man's desire to control his own affairs.

How can it have "nothing to do with God" when God calls it a perversion and an abomination?

I have the "right" to judge what is right and wrong because what is right and wrong has been laid out for us. What I don't have is the right to judge whether or not your best friend is a Christian and saved for eternity. But I do have the "right" to judge his fruits. Just as he, if he is saved, has a "right" to judge mine if I claim I am a Christian.

Your friend may very well be a "good" person who helps lots of people. I have no doubt he is. That doesn't make him a Christian and saved anymore than sitting in a garage makes him a car. Has he put his faith and trust in Christ and Christ alone for his salvation? Does he follow the teachings of Christ and believe Him when He said "I am the way, the truth and the life.........no man cometh to the Father but by me"? If so, then God will not let him tarry in his homosexuality for long.

ESH said......

The law is different for male and female homosexuals. Male homosexuality is condemned, but there is no prohibition against female homosexuality

Serph gave scripture indicating that female homosexulity is wrong.....

Romans 1:26-27 (The New King James Version)

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

ESH than said...........

I was talking about the law, not the opinion of Paul

So, ESH what law are you refereing to? If The Bible is considered the Law than is quite clear. I just understand your point ESH?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
