The Blessings of GOD in Psalms (1 : 2 -3) toward us.... is described as

of a tree.

Psalms 1: 2

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

And in HIS law he meditates day and night.

Psalms 1: 3

He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season.

Whose leaf also shall not wither ;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

Thank You , LORD

That one is such a comforting passage of Scripture too cajun! I also was thinking that the palm tree is a symbol of righteousness for some reason. I know it's because of a passage, but I don't recall which one right now.

As I mentioned to you the last time you posted this theology/ philosophy - There is a problem with equating the evergreen or cedar tree with evil, and that is that it is not always portrayed so in Scripture.

Neither are people equated in scripture 100% with rebellion against God. We were created in God's image, and He considered us worthy of redemption, but the number 666 is the number of man, representing the combined forces of humanity that oppose the kingdom of God. The cedar is a metaphor, and sometimes the tree itself can still just be a tree. However, when considering the fact that the temple was built with cedar, the metaphor for the wicked cedar follows:

Ahh, another tree by a river! And the antithesis of this tree would be found in Ezekiel 31.

It's interesting how mant times people are described as trees in scripture. The Jewish people are described like a garden that God was planting in Israel and this concept runs through scripture from Exodus 15:17 "Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established." to 2 Samuel 7:10 & Isaiah 5:7. The garden God originally planted was from good seed, but it had turned defective (Jeremiah 2:21), so God would uproot them and plant them in a foreign land (Ezekiel 17). However, God promised He would re-plant the people back in Israel (Jeremiah 24:6) if they pray (Jeremiah 42:9, 10) and would fear Him (Jeremiah 32:39-41).

Men are compared to trees in: Jdg 9:10, Eze 17:24, Zec 11:2, Luk 3:9, Rev 11:4 - which makes you wonder when the man healed of blindness in Mark 8, and seeing men as trees vs. 24, he saw more clearly than he should. We are body soul and spirit, and like a tree, our spirit reaches up to heaven like the tree's branches, our body is confined to the physical reign like a tree's trunk, and our soul . . . tainted by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, reaches down to the abyss like a tree's roots.

This makes the promise of Jesus to the thief on the cross beside him very interesting! There they were, three formidable trees contrasted with the arid Judean landscape, and Jesus offers the one man entrance into the

However, when considering the fact that the temple was built with cedar, the metaphor for the wicked cedar follows:

Sometimes, symbolism can be carried away with, too.

Again - Ps 92:12 -

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

The growth of the righteous here is compared to the cedar of Lebanon just as with the palm tree.

If you understand Hebrew parallelism in poetry, the second line is an echo and expansion of the first.

The cedar as a tree that grows tall and strong, is used to express the growth of the righteous.

There is no wickedness in this.

who were the tree's in the original garden of Eden?

Who are the trees?

This is not the same thing nebula! The psalmist is using a metaphor to qualify the nature of the righteous. The question is: what do the scriptures teach about the palm and the cedar to define the life of the righteous. I understand your skepticism, but this is first year literary criticism stuff.

We cannot be dogmatic with this one for sure! Much of my conviction comes from conjecture, and a bit of an allegorical spin on some scripture that some would feel uncomfortable with. That being said, the status quo here is unacceptable! To comprehend the devastation caused by this tree of the knowledge of good and evil, without asking some basic questions like: what did it represent?, or how did it get there?, or in my case . . . who was it?, is irresponsible. We need to have an acceptable construct that deals with the fact that the Bible starts with two trees by a river, and ends with two trees

I'm not sure where you are going with this.

All I know is this -

The only way to eternal life is through Jesus Christ.

That makes Him the Tree of Life.

When you look at the serpant's statements and what Eve saw in the fruit of the tree - it's all about self, exalting self, pleasing self, relying on self in place of God, . . . .

BTW - there is no indication in Gen. 2 that the two trees were actually "by a river".

8 The Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He placed the man He had formed. 9 The Lord God caused to grow out of the ground every tree pleasing in appearance and good for food, including the tree of life in the midst of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10 A river went out from Eden to water the garden.

Putting the trees by the river is an assumption.

Likewise, when reading Rev. 22, the wording does not indicate two trees but one.

1 Then he showed me the river of living water, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the broad street of the city. On both sides of the river was the tree [singular] of life bearing 12 kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations, 3 and there will no longer be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him. 4 They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. 5 Night will no longer exist, and people will not need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign forever and ever.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
