It has been said for decades, at least, that the Rev, 8 passage is a description of an asteroid strike. The problem is that the sheer power of such an impact has been underestimated. From here forward you will see how accurately the bible is in describing in the words of the ancient world what are the results of such an impact.

We know for example, how hail stones are formed. Warm moist air rising up to colder reaches freezing it. But there is a limit to their size due to the constraints of the atmosphere. So when the vapor and debris is pushed right out into space they can grow to enormous proportions. Thus Rev.8 declares they will reach up to 75-100 lbs.!

The Electrical Nature of the Universe

Conventional teaching is that the sun and stars obtain their energy by nuclear reaction, that is: atoms splitting to become a less complex elements, thereby releasing energy. However there are several things about that theory that cannot be explained, such as: how can this continuing reaction be controlled, so as not to totally explode and disintegrate? Why isn’t the sun just a dead ball of helium by now, or at least showing signs of degeneration? Why do the stars have coronas – something not associated with nuclear explosions?

 The fact is that the stars consist of plasma, at least on their surface, which is a kind of fourth state of matter. On earth we are familiar with solid, liquid and gaseous forms of matter. Ice, water and steam are examples, but we witness lightning and can produce plasma effects in the laboratory, both are high energy states where electrons are so excited that they leave their atoms. Our sun is a huge ball of plasma, lacking electrons - it is actually an incredibly powerful positive charge, but free electrons are present in the solar system. This system is just like a capacitor and if anything bridges the gap between the sun and the planets, an electrical discharge can take place. Just the normal, cyclical sunspot activity does this and we have seen many Coronal Mass Ejections, that fortunately have not been large or not directed toward earth. A comet can trigger this effect, as demonstrated by comet Hale-Bopp, that caused the sun to be active for quite a while.  CMEs occur when the suns magnetic field is interrupted – called a ‘Zenor breakdown’. This results in a tremendous release of energy and matter [superheated hydrogen plasma] is explosively thrown away to whatever direction the sun is facing at the time.

Our sun is at the centre of a heliosphere that reaches out way beyond Pluto and earth is an integral part of the system, with its own magnetic field. Our magnetic field, the Van Allen belt, protects us from most CMEs; they just cause auroras and some radio interference. However, we have had the bad news that lately, there has been substantial reduction to; and even holes forming, in our magnetic shield.

 

The ancient prophet states in Isaiah 30:26-28: that on the Day that the Lord takes action in His creation, to ‘sieve the nations for destruction…the sun will shine with seven times its normal brightness’. [brightness: is better translated as ‘strength’] This perfectly clear and understandable prophecy, tells us that a CME of unprecedented magnitude, directed straight at earth, will literally fulfill all the graphic, detailed prophecies of how the Lord will reset our civilization – as He did once before, in the days of Noah.

Let's see if you can give a "perfectly clear and understandable" explanation to support this claim. You have bitten off a big piece. You charge me with not believing the prophets...here is your chance to give the detailed proof.

The impact will be "off the charts". A third of the ships on the planet will be lost. Ports will be devastated bringing international commerce to a halt as well. Estimates are a tsunami hundreds of feet tall moving at hundreds of miles per hour.

My post about what the Lord will use on His Day of wrath, is perfectly clear and understandable.   A Coronal Mass Ejection instigated by the Lord will literally fulfill all the graphically described prophesies about that terrible and world changing Day. 

There will be an asteroid strike at the second Trumpet: Revelation 8:8. This will be pare of the Great Tribulation, that will happen during the last 3.5 years before Jesus Returns. But the Day of the Lord's vengeance and wrath; the Sixth Seal, is the next prophesied event we can expect. It will set the scene for a One World Govt, but we Christians; all who kept their faith on that Day, will gather and go to live in all of the holy Land.  Isaiah 35, Ezekiel 34:11-16, Romans 9:24-26

OK so the sixth seal is next, setting the scene for a one world govt., while believers will live in the holy land. Now I understand your position a bit better.

The increased ocean temperature, stagnation of currents and distribution o sediments will give rise to an enormous bloom of Red Tide. It is an algae that depletes oxygen from the water and will cause the staggering die off of marine life described in Revelation as i/3 of sea creatures perishing.

It should go without saying, and should have been added before this, that the impace will also be responsible for the great darkness foretold.

Nobody has ever explained how, as the scripture tells us, that 1/3 of the day and 1/ of the night will be taken away!

After the initial period of complete darkness the cloud in space will begin to orbit...in the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation. While passing on the day side it will block out the sun. When on the night side, it will reflect so much more light than the moon that it will be almost like daytime for part of the night.

Just like when you leave a tarp or something else on the grass for an extended time, then remove it, much of the vegetation on the planet will be "burned up" when the full darkness ends.
