Sorry if im gonna put this question somehow incorrectly coz it isnt my first language, i'd say the third one. So, through the Bible we can see : a water baptism, a baptism by the Holy Spirit and a "fire" baptism- thats how we call it in russian. The pain, persecution, loss, betrayal etc- the troubles which Apostles have been through and even you can see so much of fire baptizing in an old Testament , all the prophets i believe been through all this. I know many stories do exist nowadays (even really horrible stories) take for instance the story with pastor and his wife in India , if u never heard of this : he spent 4 years in a prison, his wife became a slave of one indian man. After four years they were rescued and she had a baby from that indian man because he was continuously raping her. As i said a fire baptism can be a loss, desease, persecuting etc, it has many forms. But can you say like :" yes, i have been through the fire baptism already".? And if yes then what makes you feel so ?

Water baptism.

"Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”" - Acts 8:37

"Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”
And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”" - Acts 8:37

"Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious." - 1 Peter 2:1-3

Holy Spirit baptism.

"But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!
You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.
Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”" - Acts 8:20-23

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”" - Luke 11:13

"Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." - John 3:5

Fire baptism.

"And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." - Revelation 20:15

God bless you, in Jesus' name!

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." - Matthew 7:7-8

Shalom,

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ, if you wish to hear the opinion which might sound all to the contrary, welcome to download my Q & A book and read the articles 8, 20, 65, 66 - about hell and Baptism. The book, as a long-term project, is "under construction" and amended daily at

Matthew 3:11 (NASB95)
11 “As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

1. water

2. Holy Spirit

3. fire

Multiple choice question... which one is the only one that saves?

Matthew 3:11 (NASB95)

Yes, it is. Those who reject the Holy Spirit will be baptized in the lake of fire.

"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I,
whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor,
and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." - Matthew 3:11-12

That is why I tell people: Do not resist the Holy Spirit. Repent of your evil deeds and cleanse your hearts.

"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." - John 3:19

If you anyone is still undecided, make a choice before it is too late. The Lord is knocking, will you open your heart for Him or not?!

"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting,
for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." - James 1:6-8

Shalom,

If interested, please see the following Comments to Matthew 3:11-12.

The meaning is clear, that Christ alone bestows all the Grace which is: figuratively represented by outward Baptism, because it is He Who " sprinkles the Conscience" with His Blood. It is He also who mortifies the old man, and bestows the Spirit of Regeneration. The word Fire is added as an epithet, and is applied to the Spirit, because He takes away our pollutions, as fire purifies gold...

Many persons, I am aware, have entered into ingenious debates about the Eternal Fire, by which the wicked will be tormented after the Judgment. But we may conclude from many Passages of Scripture, that it is a metaphorical expression...

Let us lay aside the speculations, by which foolish men weary themselves to no purpose, and satisfy ourselves with believing, that these forms of speech denote, in a manner suited to our feeble capacity, a dreadful torment, which no man can now comprehend, and no language can express...

(John Calvin, Commentary on a Harmony of the Evangelists, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, pp 199-201)

The descent of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, in the form of fiery tongues lighting on the Apostles, with the effects produced, on their minds and by their Ministry, was a remarkable fulfilment of this Prediction...

(Thomas Scott, The Holy Bible, with Explanatory Notes...)

I have nothing more to add but suggest, wait patiently for the Day when we all get our Answers, Corrections, and Explanations.

GOD bless you.

Igor

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
