Bro david what would you do to correct the situation? When talking is clearly out of the picture and this 5 year old is a physical threat to all around her?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

When talking is out of the picture,

Well I would then try to remove her form the class and be very stern and direct with her.

If it continues I will then restrain her with force, like calling a few teachers [ so that I don't get sued alone  ] and togather restraining her with our hands but not in a violent way.

If beyond that she tries to fight us off or anything I will just drag her by them ears into an empty room and lock her in there, call her parents and ask them over to evaluate and decide WITH the parents on what to do next.

I will also request that that child be brought home and do follow up phone calls asking how the situation is.

What ya think Island do ya think I have what it takes to be a pre-school teacher ?

LOL ever watch the Pacifier ? I am way bigger than Vin in terms of mass .

LOL

Then she would bite and kick you and throw things at you. You could only put her out in the hall for you are not allowed to leave the rest of the kids in a classroom by themselves. If you put her out in the hall unwatched no telling what might happen

If it continues I will then restrain her with force, like calling a few teachers [ so that I don't get sued alone  ] and togather restraining her with our hands but not in a violent way.
None of the other teachers are allowed to leave their classes unattended either. While not te case here, many states do not allow a teacher to touch a child. You'd loose your job in most states for doing this.

If beyond that she tries to fight us off or anything I will just drag her by them ears into an empty room and lock her in there, call her parents and ask them over to evaluate and decide WITH the parents on what to do next.

There are no empty rooms in most schools, and in most of the cases parents don't answer the phone in the day time.

I will also request that that child be brought home and do follow up phone calls asking how the situation is.
This is valid and happens... but what to do with the kid until the parent gets there, and if the parent does not have a car (kid rides the bus) and can not come to the school.

What ya think Island do ya think I have what it takes to be a pre-school teacher ?
I'm not Island, but I think you have about the same ideas as most teachers have coming out of college...... then reality sets in your first day of class  You'll wish the police were there before it's over

That's good for you would need it.

The point of alarm here should be that handcuffs are not designed to be used on children.  They are for restraining adults.  And whether you believe they could or should be used in any case, I think that it bears noting that in our society children of 5-years-old are not handcuffed and arrested.  And furthermore, we should not approve of the direction that we are going when we approve such things.

Granted, we kind of dug our own graves here.  But saints, there has to be a better, more reasonable way of dealing with these situations.  I'm sorry, but you simply cannot convince me that a 5-year-old could possibly overpower and adult - to such degree that the police have to be called in to deal with the situation. I mean, how far does this need to go?  Maybe the next time my 3-year-old pitches a fit on the kitchen floor I should call the police to come and take her away.  Is that really where we are going with this?

I agree there has to be a better way.

Unfortunately, the teachers are not allowed to do this. Could the teacher have grabbed the student's hands? Physically - yes. But by the rules of the school - no.

So, what does the teacher do - let the kid keep hitting her?

You see, I'm more angry at the school situation, that is the prevention of teachers from effectively disciplining the students when they need it, than I am of the cops intervening with handcuffs.

On the news this morning, it was mentioned that the girl had said she had the tantrum because she didn't want to be in the school.

Oh brother!

Whooooooaaa

Teachers are not allowed to subdue students in America ?

LOL

Here in Singapore ...ROTFLOL an outburst like that would result in three thrashings in a day.

One from the principal, one form the teacher and one when she gets back home from her daddy.

LOL

Oh dear then that would explain why the teacher called the police if she was not allowed to touch the student .

Ging Gang Golly ! How are teachers supposed to teach anything then ?

Can we start this thread all over again Cause in light of this new finding I think I might be a states attorney rather than a defense counsel

The child apparently has serious anger issues. Was this a one-time event, or has she been a behavior problem before? Whatever it is, they should definately try to help her before it gets worse. (Help, in my opinion, should include parenting classes... not every grown person knows how to deal with children, and especially when the child is so frustrated that the only way she can express herself is through anger and violence). While the child needs to be held responsible for her bad behavior, a reasonable effort needs to be made to discover the reason(s) why she is acting out. Could be any number of things ... she might feel neglected (is there a new sibling now that is taking up mom's time?) ...are her parents going through a divorce or separation? ... has one of the parents begun dating/ or recently remarried? ... she might be experiencing abuse of some kind ... perhaps an older sibling is getting attention she thinks belongs to her... or she might be getting blamed for things she didnt do ... Perhaps a number of recent events have all come together and overwhelmed her ability to cope... Whatever it is, she needs to know that there are better and more acceptable ways to express herself, and that there are also consequences for behaving badly. I hope there are some understanding adults who can intervene on her behalf.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
