I think you're preaching to the choir here, Mind on Fire. EVERYBODY HERE agrees that divine judgment is striking America because we've permitted godlessness to reign in our land!

So what are we so 'wrong' about?

I assume that the majority of us who communicate on this board are born again believers. There may also be a some who are not,but thats great too. Whatever category you are in we all must realize that we all were created by the same God. We must also realize that in all of our intelligence and knowledge we are still very limited in our full understanding of Gods total nature.

After listening to Christians over the years I am amused at how we all view God and his word. Everyone has their own theories, ideas, and notions and none of us is 100 % sure that any of our conjectures have captured the true conveyance of his word. Paul said it best when he stated in 1 Cor. 13:12{For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.}

It is amazing what we can learn from each other. From one persons life we can learn what to do and from another person we can learn what not to do. We can never learn enough about people, the world we live in and most importantly The Living God.

This leads me to why I am posting this. The other night after reading some reflections on prophecy I had an epiphany. It occurred to me What If. What if everything that  I was taught all of these years was not the true gospel. What if my pastor is wrong.  What if gaining salvation requires more than just asking God for forgiveness and repeating after someone

Dear MindonFire,

When I read your post it was not so much the words of "God", but the tone that stood out for me. God does not "laugh derisively" at His children. I do not recognize that tone from anywhere in God's word.

:)

He is shown to be vengeful when His people are rebellious. But He is merciful to the ignorant, to the point where Jesus cries out from the cross, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

No, that was certainly not God's voice that you heard.

One verse stood out in my mind while I read your post:

"a bruised reed He will not break" Matt 12:20

My friend, we may not have all the details exactly right. But our loving Father gently guides us to His Truth; if we seek we will find.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you and that God send His angels to protect you with His power from whatever forces are attempting to confuse you.

And may the peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you,

Fiosh

:)

In all honosty -

A part of me believes there is something here - that is, having been raised in Christian doctrine, as I got older I realized I needed to sift through all I learned and discern what was human doctrine vs what the Bible actually says.

My view of the End Times has definantly taken a turn from what I've been taught to what I actualy studied from the Scriptures apart from previous interpretations.

However, the OP lost me with these words:

What if Messias is already hear but I am restricted from seeing him because I am blinded by the image of him that I have built in my mind from other peoples perceptions.

This question is a direct contradiction to what Scripture specifically and distinctly states.

Have you ever examined the "mirror" image of something. You know, how it will do just the same, but in the opposite direction??? That is how I understand the church today and the Jews of the period before Christ. Jesus is the plumbline. He is the mirror that both images are sandwiching. The OT believers "missed" Him, because of the mislead direction they had taken for so long, due to their leaders. And I believe we, the NT believers are about to do the very same, and "miss" Him, because we have mirrored the same behavior, only in the opposite direction. One was too legalistic, one was too liberal. BOTH were hypocritical within. BOTH became engrossed with men's teachings and traditions rather than God's Word. We are NO different. We BOTH are missing the Plumbline, Whose Name Is The Word.

Suzanne

Have no fear...no one will miss Him the next time!

Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

:)

Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

:)

Peace,

Fiosh

what is if a deep question.

thing is, who do we put first?

do we actually put God first? or are we just saying that for others sake?

who do we put first? what commandments are we following? and which ones are we not following?

About mid December 2004, my wife had an encounter which started out in a worship session of hers, and then into an audio vission ( not vissual, but audiable to her ) the gist of the vission was many many many voices calling out, " who is going to tell us, who is going to tell us........ " and according to what she relayed, they were calling out with the sound of fear. then, about a week later, the earthquakes and Tsunami happened.

after that, during her prayer and worship time, she hear the voices again, in a very heavy distressed tone. " why didnt anyone tell us, why didnt anyone tell us...."

it seems that when there is certain football, base ball, or basketball games on, that the church attendance drops.

I know that evenings are spent mostly in front of the one eyed monster (tv) by Christians.

if we are to mimic the Church and the way it was in the first days, we have to do everything they were doing, and that is meeting each and every day for prayer, not just once a week. and it does not matter whether it is in houses, or barns or schools or even places we call church, we need to be meeting with each other to be uplifting to each other, and to be learning more about Christ and going out and sharing the Word of God.....

are we realy following Gods commandments? or are we just warming a pew a couple times a week?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
