A better question: when God convicts you of sin, where does that conviction come from? Without or within?

Why is that a better question?

Now, just as you do with Yowm, you engage in semantics to avoid answering the question.

Explain to me exactly what a "personal relationship with Jesus" looks like.  What is required?  Explain it to me like I just walked in off the street.

Why don't you actually deal with what I wrote first.

Just once, I'd like to see you deal with a question directly when you answer a post.  It's worth a try.

What a personal relationship with Christ “looks” like? That is a way to subjective question,  seeing how you can’t “see” a relationship.

But to try and answer you question;

Scripture says ;

Proverbs 18:24 (NASB)
A man of [too many] friends [comes] to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Christ is that friend who sticks closer than a brother. It’s getting to know this “Friend” just like you would anybody else.

Scripture also says;

John 14:23 (NASB)
Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

Having a personal relationship with Christ is keeping His commandments. Than He will form Himself in you and you will be conformed to His image and you will “know” that friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Because it recognizes the source of conviction and doesn't try to place it in fallible man.

But is that not  just your opinion of which question is more important?

But to answer your question;

Where is the “source” of the conviction?

Answer;

It is the Spirit of God.

That's it?

If I were a lost soul, wanting to understand what a personal relationship with Jesus was and/or looked like and you gave me the above non-answer, I would walk away no better off than when I first asked the question.  Your answer above would be of absolutely no help to someone looking for a relationship with Jesus because it does not explain anything at all.  You typed out a post, but it doesn't actually explain anything and you in no way answered my question.  You still can't seem to deal adequately with a direct question.  So I'll ask the question again:

Explain to me exactly what a "personal relationship with Jesus" looks like.

Because you don’t like or understand my answer you call it a “non answer”. For you it may be a non answer.  Since I am not able to give you a answer, that will answer your heart, on what a personal relationship with Christ “looks” like. May I offer you a subjection?  Why don’t you ask Jesus what a personal relationship with Him looks like. I’m quite sure He can explain it much better than I. For He knows how to talk to your heart so that you might “hear”.

@Cobalt1959

I never implied you didn’t have a relationship with Christ. You asked me what one “looks” like. I gave you an answer. Which you didn’t like. Even though the answer was a correct and good one. So having failed at touching your personal relationship with Christ.  So than I directed you to Christ Himself, for  Him to teach you what you would for whatever reason not receive from me.

But I do thank you for blessing me this morning. For when I read you have a personal relationship with Christ my heart leaped for joy!

Seeing that you have a personal relationship with Christ. You  have answered your own question, and your heart knows how real it is, also,, how deep it is, also,  how personal and that He is “closer than a brother”.  So than you would know what one looks  like.

Knowning that there are believers at all stages in their relationship with Christ. There are some that have a weak relationship with Christ and also there are those that have a stronger. But either way, regardless, they are to be welcomed, loved and accepted. So to my brother in Christ, I wish you an increase in Christ in your innermost being.

Much love in Christ, Not me

Yes, it’s that one and one relationship between a believer and Jesus. Thanks for your post.

Quench not THE SPIRIT .    absolutely true .    But I tell us all what spirit we better quench and let it not even once enter our heart.

The all inclusive anti Christ spirit which is leading all right into the snare under a false sensual love for world unity and peace.  YEAH I say unto you , QUENCH THAT ONE false spirit

and not the HOLY SPIRIT .      Now you all throw those hands up and praise the LORD .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
