You might want to begin by asking Jesus Christ into your life to be your Lord and Savior and asking for forgiveness of your sins. You can talk to God about anything. He knows it all anyway. He wants you to talk to Him about anything you struggle with. You are making it hard. God has always loved you and has been by your side. You just have to commit your life to Him.

Thank you for replying! I have accepted Jesus Christ into my life to be my Lord and Savior, but like many, I do mess up. So asking for forgiveness is always something that I am constantly doing. I am learning to be more open with God and understand that he knows more about me than I know about myself, but that doesn't make the process any less difficult for someone who becomes lost. I don't think that I am necessarily making it hard, but that I am genuinely confused and need guidance and prayer which I have gratefully found here in this forum.

Hi, There is a short book titled  "not even a hint", by Joshua Harris that may be of help as you also read pray and think over the word of God your Bible. Extrabiblical resources like his short book can be  of great benefit in helping to motivate any person into reading the Bible with better understanding.

The short book deals directly with lust especially  as it pertains to the younger but physically mature male or female- for both males and females deal with lust expressed in sexual activities.

May I give a personal thought here; you can't be a good person, not good enough, you can't be the perfect person which is what God requires. Just can't do it. You can be seen as perfect though in the eyes of God, perfect for your flaws are covered in the shed blood of Jesus if you accept and wear that covering.

The price of your personal sin,  even the sin of lust, has already been taken care of, covered, paid for,- by Jesus at the cross at Calvary by His shed blood. Start there, do not let satan, nor satan's demons, nor his minions the naysayers and rules makers, cause you grief nor scare you into thinking you are not a good  enough person therefore you  are not seen as perfect in the sight of God the Father. Don't buy satan's lie.

Always remember and count on the willing sacrifice made by Jesus who is Lord God and the personal savior of all that  are saved. He has already has fully covered my sin, your sin, and the sin of all that have been called to hear of the sacrifce made by Jesus. All sin, past, present, and future, - it is covered. Start there, then learn through your Bible with prayer and thinking upon its words of the ways you may do all things that you do to glorify God. Not to meet His standard, for you can't  no one can, but to glorify Him, which every  Christian can do.

Do not let satan nor demons nor any man nor woman steal your joy an dyour certain hope which is th eperfection that God sees when he sees you washed white as snow by the shed blood of Jesus.

There is a simple song with a profound truth.  written  by Lewis E Jones;

Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

Refrain:
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the precious blood of the Lamb.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

(refrain repeated)

Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

( refrain repeated)

Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

May the words and the well known tune help provide to you additional energy with  strong impetuous to read the word of God learn of the power in the blood of the precious lamb of God our Lord Jesus. Victory is yours by Jesus  God who came in the flesh lived - died -  descended - rose and ascended to heaven-, and there makes a place for you.

Thank you for the recommendation and your thoughtful response:) I will definitely take a look to see if it will be of use to me while on my journey. I am learning that no matter the sin, God has paid for them already and that he wants me to repent and surrender to him. Also, I know that comparison is the their of joy and that I cannot be perfect in the worldly way that I wish to be but instead be perfect as you said in the eyes of God through my imperfects and flaws.

Wow! What awesome advice and encouragement and words of wisdom have been given to you above. Glory!

I'll just add a little more:

Satan is the prince of this sinful world, and we need to hate him so much that anything that tempts us that we know is sin, we refuse to do because of our hate for him.  So much of what is happening today is the work of Satan and his evil workers who work behind the scene. Satan is desperate in these latter days and is working furiously to keep Christians  deceived -- in bondage and shame...to keep them without joy, without hope...desperate. Brothers and sisters, lets fight against this evil that may attract us.  A lot of this is so easily thrust at us through the internet and social media. It's all Satan's doings and he has many workers helping him out.  Because we hate Satan, let's then refuse to do his bidding.  He IS the prince of this sinful world.  Let's be bold and let's fight.  Let's stand up and be counted for as one of His sheep.  Let's be ever watchful for what we accept as truth, and if it is not backed up by Scripture, then it is not of God. We have power and we have the authority to command Satan out of our lives. Let's be courageous...our armor strapped on tight, and let's fight Satan wherever he may show up in our lives.  Hallelujah!

Selah, I couldn't agree more! The gracious people above have been guiding me these last could of days into a new journey of love and light that I have never experienced. It is truly through the grace of God that I stumbled upon this website. Also, Satan and his followers are just the worst! They are trying to tear me and many others down through this technological age but I will no long give him that satisfaction. I am a child of God, and plan to start living my part in the way that the Lord intended for me to!

Have a blessed day!!

Two suggestions:-

use daily bible reading notes, they giove a passage and an explanation of it.

or

Attend church regularly and ask questions of the preacher afterwards or check out the christianityexplored site for a church running this course and join it.

It will let you ask questions, discuss Christianity without the embarisment of doing it in front of people you know.

Get anti virus that will let you block porn and set it up to do that.

Thank you for your suggestions! I am learning more about how to understand scripture and make sense of how to interpret it into my life, and as for church I have always felt guilty going to church but I now know that there is nothing to be afraid of and that I should embrace the humility.

I would suggest you start with the four gospels, and one very important thing to do before reading your bible is pray and ask God for understanding.  Don't overdo it, I would recommend a chapter at most so you get the context of the passage.  In regards to the issue of pornography, what you are experiencing there is personal conviction, regarding a sin you are committing.  What you need to do is remove this from your life, by any means necessary.  There are software options available that will block these type of sites, and if you find that doesn't work, then perhaps staying off the internet altogether is necessary.  If it is through television, there are ways to block these types of programs there as well, and if that doesn't work, get rid of cable altogether.  The bottom line is, you are ashamed of your actions, and this is why you feel God is mad at you.  He isn't mad at you by the way, you are precious to Him, but He does hate sin, and your body is the temple in which He resides, so treat it appropriately.

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

God bless

Thank you for this wise and detailed advice! I appreciate your possible solutions and alternatives to my issue. Although, a question that I have is; What are the 4 gospels??

I don’t guess wingnut would mind if I went ahead and answered. :)  The four gospels are MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE and JOHN.

I’m proud  of you!

If you have any questions in your studies, just ask us, okay?

Thank you for you reply! I am currently in the process, but just out of curiosity how do you personally surrender to Jesus? Is that something that is to be done in prayer? or just through my everyday action?

Some people hit rock bottom and call out to God because they are without all hope.  They know that they are going to hell.  So they give God all of their lives because only God can straighten out the mess and bring any good out of it.

Other people do so piece by piece.  They give God the biggest problem area of their lives and ask Him to take over.  Then they apply all pertaining Scriptures without question or argument.  They have stopped wrestling with God but have quieted themselves praying "Nevertheless, not my will be done, but thine."  When they see how wonderful it is to have God in control of that part of their life they surrender the rest to God as well.  They want to do things God's way.

I have always felt guilty going to church

Try the christianityexplored web site for a church in your area running this course. Either arange to join the course or contact those running the course to arrange to attend church with them.

Look at the 'mysterywhorshiper' form at the site, 'theshipoffools' as a eans of judging what the church is like.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
