Shalom all

I have a question. What charity is out there that is worthy to give to which specifically helps Christians in need?

When Yahweh says to help widows and orphans, going by past standards, I'm assuming he means those without protection or cannot supply/resource. I suppose todays equivalent would be all of those brothers and sisters who are very poor and struggle for the basics.

I know of the Barnabas Fund but are there any other worthy ones?

Love & Shalom

Do you personally know of any widows or orphans in your area that could use your assistance?  I ask because one of the commandments Jesus gave us is to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, and someone in your area can be seen as a neighbor.  Not only would you be helping someone in need, but personally becoming part of His work instead of just giving money to someone else to do the work for you.

If the above is not doable for you, there are millions of organizations to choose from.  I don't know who is held to higher accountabilities, but I am sure some research would point you in the right direction.

Hi, May I suggest any and every churched member of the body of Christ Jesus might first ask of the local body of Christ that they associate with; how can one join in helping with one's  own hands if physically fit to do so?  From there ask what benevolent fund exists, how is it funded,  how are funds and materials and labor provided to assist the widows of the church, and does that include help for others in the church body as well as well?

If one wants to just give somewhere; one place that I know of is; http://www.shepherdsministries.org/our-history.html for it's people are led to  help the mentally disabled, it helps the parents of the mentally disabled, it helps the widow that a has a mentally disabled child that will likely out live her.

ask God to lead you directly to a widow or orphan He wants assisted :)   Why support the overhead of a charity when your substance will go much further if you distribute it directly to the need?  :)  Alternatively a local church that is actively assisting widows and orphans is probably worthy of support too.

Nice thought, yet be of high caution that the effort is not one that gives the enemy an opening to harm your own testimony, do not go it alone have a witness for sure.

a necessary cautionary  note for sure.  I'm convinced He's desiring we get more personally involved with the people He wants to touch, and if done at His direction, His way, it will be done safely.  But...point taken.

Difficult. I understand what you are all saying but, assuming the local help scene is not available, are there any trustworthy chartiable organisations?

The barnabas fund seeks to help perscuted christians with practical help.

Otherwise contact what ever charities you can find and ask how christian they are?

How large there admin costs are?

How do they find and help those they help?

Form your judgement from the answwrs.
