The writer of Hebrews is talking about those who KNOW the truth but have chosen willfully to take the precious work of redemption and treat it as rubbish, and something to be trampled underfoot.

This work is His, for by Himself he will purge our sins, by the work of the Holy Spirit, they shall be cleansed out of our nature, out of our hearts, and out of our lives.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge you from dead works to serve the living God?

Heb 10:1-2"...no more conscience of sins." We know that this has yet to occur for we are all still very conscience of our sins and sinfulness.

That makes me think of how we have two seasons each year to examine our hearts and ask for forgiveness, and deliverance and to repent to other's as well...each being at least 40 days long...those times are really special to me and sometimes I only need a day to look inside...other times it takes all 40 days for the Father to get me to see what I seem to be holding onto...but He is faithful to turn me completely back to him if I but turn alittle toward Him. I love those times of Teshuvah (repentance)

Cats, you need to allow the context of the passage to help you understand.

That is where Yeshua comes in and works in your life, when you let go and realise that you can do nothing without Him. If you think about all the times of fallig down into sin, it was when you were doing things yourself, in your own strength, and not in instant in prayerfully consideration of God.

Do not be disheartened as it is the fight we all must go through spiritually to truly understand our utter dependence upon Him.

I understand your stuggle with sin. It shows that your are sincere in wanting to give up sin. There are too many who just presume on God's forgiveness. Yet God's way of overcoming sin is not 'trying not to sin', but abiding with Christ because without Him abiding within, it is impossible to give up sin because we are sin. The Scriptures says and I have found it to be true that the only way to give up sin is to abide with Christ. This is a positive action and while doing this you will not sin. It really works and is the essence of true faith that works. When you abide in Jesus, you cannot sin for Jesus will not be a party to sin. Now you can chose not to abide with Jesus and you will sin. But the sin will be the result of not abiding in Jesus. When your will is in His hands, He will warn you when tempted and as you will to do His good pleasure, he will keep you from sin. This is the work of the Spirit of God, but it requires your participation.

1JOHN 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not

seen him, neither known him. 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the

beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (This is true and is meant to wake us up to the danger of sin. Unforsaken sin will put us in the lake of fire.) 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (This is good news and not just condemnation. The essence is to remain with the seed, Jesus. Thus we have John 15 about abiding with Jesus the seed. Jesus is the seed who comes into the heart. Yet man has a part to do in abiding with Jesus. If Jesus abides in you, you will overcome sin. Yes there is still forgiveness for sin commited when we fail to abide, but we are to grow up into Christ and overcome sin.)

JOHN 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 15:3 Now ye are clean (forgiven) through the word which I have spoken unto you. 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye

will, and it shall be done unto you (victory over sin). 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father

"Abide" is a bible term but I would much prefer if someone would translate that word into something we would say in modern terms.

If abiding means "living" inside us...then I'm fine. Still, it doesn't matter because I haven't reached perfection.

I might have made great progress since I met the Lord but I am still a far cry from perfection. I may live a wholesome life but I commit sins of omission.

I may not commit the crimes of the century but do I call my grandmother up to wish her well as often as I should? Do I tithe as much as GOD would want me to or do I just give the meager 10 percent? Am I being lukewarm in my attitude?

Do I spend too much time in front of the television? Am I selfish in my attitude?

The LONGER I live, the more I am aware of my shortcomings and why Jesus is Lord and I'm not! (LOL!)

I've got a long, long way to go on this journey.

Cats,

Notice that the scriptures tell us to abide in him and he in us. It is a two-way relationship. To abide with someone means to do more than just live in the same house. It means fellowship. It means talking with the person, hanging out with him, spending time with him, showing interest in what he likes and doing what he likes to do. It is like when you are dating someone and you want to be with that person more than ever and you stay up late talking with him on the phone and you wake up thinking about him and all you want to do is please that person. That is what "abide" means to me.

Abide definition of the Hebrew word

lûn lı̂yn

loon, leen

A primitive root; to stop (usually over night); by implication to stay permanently; hence (in a bad sense) to be obstinate (especially in words, to complain):—abide (all night), continue, dwell, endure, grudge, be left, lie all night, (cause to) lodge (all night, in, -ing, this night), (make to) murmur, remain, tarry (all night, that night).

Abide definiton of the Greek word.

menō

men'-o

A primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy):—abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), X thine own.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
