There are some valid criticisms about the sustainability of factory farming and big agriculture as well as animal welfare in a mass production environment.  Most of the criticisms I've read against animal products are primarily a criticism of mass production agriculture for profit.  Moving to a more local and sustainable model for part of our diet does not preclude having animals as part of this.  Indeed, grass (and similar plants) are often better for the environment than most monoculture crops and can be converted to human food by animals.

I live with 2 vegans and am quite familiar with this.  I still consume animal products (when I have the chance).

Now now. Just because hitler was vegan does not mean that all vegans are hitler.  And no I am not vegan.   I like KFC too much.

I have this sixth sense that to be a vegan will be pushed , I also strongly feel that in the NWO people will look down on people who eat meat,look at what they teach the kids in schools they are made ready for the NWO, look at this whole transgender thing, this  world is getting conditioned for what is to come .

I was mostly vegetarian before I got married. I only used that line because my hubby told me that same thing today when we drove past a sign that said vegan brunch. So it was pretty much a joke on my part. Unfortunately there are some militant vegans out there and a push on the part of various groups to eliminate meat from our diets, or worse, promoting the eating of bugs.

@angels4u lol  No no, sister! Not yummy. YUCKY! :31:

Simply put...bugs drive me buggy.

And in my food? :foot-stomp: No way, Jose. I gotta put my foot down.

They have already snuck bugs in. For example:

"Yoplait strawberry yogurt is one of many foods colored with carmine, a dye made from crushed cochineal bugs " :52_52:

Hitler was a vegetarian. I think there is a difference.

Meat Eating and Political Ideology

New figures from a 2018 Gallup poll provide excellent estimates of vegetarianism and veganism in the U.S. Overall, 5 percent of Americans consider themselves vegetarian (i.e., do not eat meat), with another 3 percent considering themselves vegan (i.e., do not eat any animal products, including meat, milk, eggs, etc).

The story gets all the more interesting when you look at ideological differences. Among liberals, 11 percent are vegetarian, but only 2 percent of conservatives are vegetarians. This is a staggering difference, with liberals 5.5 times more likely to be vegetarian compared to conservatives.

A similar difference is observed for vegans: liberals are 2.5 times more likely to be vegan than are conservatives
(SEE what eating only vegetables can do to your sanity!!)

You mean we gotta live on this;

Bill Gates can change my computer software updates without my permission.
No way he is going to change my wife's cooking menu.
