Job said,

Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Have you had a trial in your life that brought you closer to God, or changed you for the better? And, did you recognize it being from God while you were going through it?

I have had several, as I think we all go through trials. And yes everyone of them taught me something. So I would say yes they changed me for the better.

And, did you recognize it being from God while you were going through it?

Ah the hardest part was dropping my "Why me attitude" and adopting the "what is God trying to teach me" attitude. Its hard to do, its hard to ingrain in yourself that you can't fix everything yourself, you need God. And the hardest of all to accept is that sometimes God says no. It hurts at the time but you will understand why He said no in the days and months to come if you ask Him to show you.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Oh traveller, what a loaded question! I am as we speak trying to not question God, to just put my total and utter trust in him, through this time of trial and grief.

Have I learned anything, yes, that I have absolutely no control over most things in my life, I can not wish, cry, scream, or sometimes even pray my way out of them, I just have to go through them, depending on the Lord to know what is right and good or necessary for me.

Knowing even if its bad, that my Lord and Savior can and will use it to good, if I allow him to.

Yes, the all important "Why Me, Lord?" :P

I went through a time in my life where it seemed like trials rained down around me, and like you do in a hail storm, I ran and ducked and hid. Of course, there was always the one that hit me right square on the head and stopped me in my tracks. :emot-hug:

I also leaned to my own devices to avoid them or recover from them, instead of trusting God. All that did, really, was prolong it. Painfully. Agelessly.

Job knew his trial was from God. I didn't always because I didn't listen. And I certainly didn't always trust that it was going to turn out alright in the end.

It is a wise one that can sit down in the middle of his trial and ask, "What are you teaching me here, Lord? Open my eyes so that I may see."

Traveller,

Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Funny you should use that scripture.

I have come to know that one and Hosea 6:1 very well.

Come, and let us turn back to Yahoweh. For He has torn but He does heal us, He has stricken but He binds us up.

These scripture have become very dear to me! The Lord took me through a trial that lasted about 7 months. At one point I read: GOD will wound us, so he can heal us (properly). The minute my eyes read that, the Lord spoke to me and said, "That is what I am doing to you". It was the most painful time of my life but I wouldn't trade it for anything because of what the Lord taught me. After all was said and done, I knew, that I knew, that I knew that I was His beloved.

There is soooo much more to this story.

Blessings!

Good subject.

Yes, I have been through many trials. My problem is that I constantly fail to recognize them for what they are, and kick and scream anyway!

May the Lord calm me.

There are those times when that God has to keep bringing us through things for us to learn. Think of the Israelites after they left Egypt; what should have been an 11 day journey was a 40 YEAR journey. They were too stubborn to do what God was telling them to do. I've been at that point in my life too.

I made a major life decision w/o consulting Him very carefully and now I'm paying for it. But He has taught me that the next time I need to make a life altering decision, I'd better rely on Him, lol!!! I constantly find myself telling Him that I want His will to be done and if it's not from Him, I want nothing to do with it.

On a sidenote, I'd recommend getting the teaching series "Wilderness Mentality" from Joyce Meyer-very good teaching!!!!

I can answer, yes, to all of those questions,Trav. especially when I made my decision to Follow Him. Funny thing tho, I never ever blamed God for things that didn't turn out the way I thought it should. I've always looked inwards at myself and asked myself what am I doing wrong. I'm a bit like Peter, I have a short fuse and it has got me into a lot of trouble, but the Lord has been working on it for years and now I'm getting a little more mellow and letting Him take control and hey, it works.

love ya,sis,

eric.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
