I agree it's a conundrum and didn't mean to imply that we can "justify ourselves by works as to being worthy to receive salvation" but rather that Christ taught that the world could know our faith by our works as noted in Matthew 7:16-20, Matthew 12:33-37 and Luke 6:43-45.

Yes, a real indwelt person of God will do real indwelt things -unless- he chooses to walk in flesh and not in s/Spirit. And this is the war that is in every Christian still here... Romans 7

I am curious. I see you quote the KJV version of Paul's list of "works of the flesh". I'm curious as to what you think of the idea that witchcraft is listed.

Satan's use of his created self to endorse lie 'as he could be god' was the beginning of rebellion- that all that would follow him would be of that craft...

You quote the Strong's summary for the Hebrew word Kashaph. It meant to practice sorcery, divination or necromancy. I was curious as to your take on how the Greek word Paul used "Pharmakeia" became witchcraft in 16th and 17th century English Bible translations.

I believe that the mountain moving was meant for every follower of Christ.

If you are going to move mountains, be careful where you put them.

He told some who were healed to show themselves to the priest at the temple because Christ adhered to Old Testament Law, and I believe that we too should follow His example.

  Luke 17:11-19

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a] met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

.....At that time they were in the Sinai Covenant and in the book of Leviticus it was written the quidlines how to deal with leprosy a contagious decease. And when a leper claimed to be well he had to go to the Priest to do the tests according to the book of Leviticus and the Priest will declare them clean and they can re-enter their comunity. If not the comunity will stone them to drive them out.

This is why Jesus send them to the Priest to declare them clean by the Priest and safely re-enter the comunity by the witness of the Priest.

One of them who was a Samaritan could not have this benefit the other lepers had. The Priests were only for the Jews and the Galileans. And when he returned to Jesus to thank him it was also to show him that he was healed. This is the first time Jesus showed him clean and he declare him clean so he can tell the people that Jesus showed him clean and declare him clean.

At the beginning of the story they asked mercy from Jesus Christ from a distance and when Jesus told them to go and showed themselves to the priest were still lepers. Jesus did not healed them on the spot.

On the way they were healed.

In this example Jesus did the work of the Priest.

This is telling us something about Jesus Christ. Jesus gave a message about himself that He was a Priest unto God. That the Messiah is a Priest unto God. But not from the Levitical order. And he minister about the people unto God outside the Temple.

A Priest in the order of Melchizedek. The profile of the Messiah is to be a Priest unto God from a different order, from outside the Levitical priesthood because the Priest of the Levitical order cannot be a king at the same time.

Later God exalted him and made him a king and a ruler in his Kingdom.

Jesus foretold that in the parable of the younger Son. When he welcomed him back and dressed him with the Robe of a Ruler and gave him the Ring of the king who stubs the order the King makes. He set him up as the king and Lawmaker while he was still alive he gave the rulership to the younger Son.

A king could never be a Priest but a Priest can be a King but not from the Levitical order but from the order of Melchizedek.

I am new to this chat thing but I am here to discuss the teachings of Christ and how they apply to the present day and age. Personally I believe that the teachings of Christ should be taken literally and I find that every where I turn everyone is teaching everything but the teachings of Christ.

Hi unworthyservant,

Good topic, and of course we must not leave out what Jesus continued to teach when He ascended to the father. Those teachings are from Acts to revelation.

@unworthyservant

According to the scriptures and as Jesus foretold the earth and the heavens have pass away. At the time Jesus died on the Cross everything was made New, the old was gone.

This is what Jesus said: It will happen like when we change a garment.

The earth and the heavens will put on a New Garment.

Everything will become New and that's what happened with the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross.

And as was foretold in Jeremiah 31:35-36.

35 This is what the Lord says,

he who appoints the sun
    to shine by day,
who decrees the moon and stars
    to shine by night,
who stirs up the sea
    so that its waves roar—
the Lord Almighty is his name:
36 “Only if these decrees vanish from my sight,”
    declares the Lord,
“will Israel ever cease
    being a nation before me.”

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
