I like Amy Grant myself. I never was a fan of Jessica Simpson. She comes across as being a bit air headed. Too bad that most women singers today have to use sex as a marketing tool to sell their music.

Constant, I watched a bio on Jessica Simpson about a year ago on VH1 and here is what the summary was.

When Jessica was a girl she was having a hard time "making it" in the Christian music scene due to her large chest. She tried "dressing down" to conceal the endowment, but to no avail.

So, she decided to get into the worldly music scene. Success at any cost, I guess.

To see her now clearly shows the fruit of her decision. Based upon the fruit, I would guess that Jessica's walk with the Lord isn't what it used to be.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If she hadn't been scorned for being well endowed, she may not have had to sell out to make money at her craft. It's too bad there's so many christians that will abandon their own just because you don't fit into the mold. It wasn't her fault she was chesty. Now everybodys going on about how she fell away. Well, how do you blame her if she doesn't get support from her church family. :)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree with you in principle, but still don't read it as "a license to sin" because some Christians "did you bad."

The last time I checked, to be well endowed as a female is supposed to be a blessing and not a curse.

I can understand the Christian music scene not wanting to be sexually provocative, but to despise a woman's natural beauty is going too far. She was doing everything she could to not be provocative in dress, yet it was not enough.

Ive only just come into this conversation so forgive me for not quite being with you all!

Jessica Simpson has a lovely voice i admit - i havent seen her music videos tho but surely you cant all 'blame' her father just because he was/still is a pastor!

She is an adult - God gives us free will - she can choose to follow him or not to. I am sure all of us have made mistakes before in our lives yet that doesnt make us any less christian then the next person.

God sees us all as equal and tho yes i am shocked at what you are all saying she is doing and the way she is 'putting across' christianity - at the end of the day you have to remember its her judgement day no one elses! Just worry about wether you are following in Gods true ways before you worry about others :noidea:

We all struggle with the walk of faith - i believe Jessica is the same, God will call her back to him when the time is ready - Gods timing is perfect!!

I hope i havent upset or hurt anyone writing this - forgive me if i have! :noidea:

God bless you all

Curvy,

You haven't hurt me in anyway. Your opinion is equally important as everyone. My problem with her is that the way she comes across. Where did her values go? Yes she may be struggling and no I don't personally know her but she is a good example of how people can slip away from their beliefs and fall into society as being a sex symbol. And shame on her family and friends for supporting her in acting this way. What ever happened to the Old Jessica?

well everyone here seems to assume everyone has heard of this person, however, I never did, I guess I dont' frequent places that I would see this person.

But because of this I had to do a google search and this is what I found http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navc...sica+simpson%5D and

http://www.absolutepictures.com/display.php?i=6740

And I will put a warning with this, it is vulgar, I would prefer if only a woman would verify that this is who you all are talking about and calling a Christian. Isn't a Christian one who follows Christ? :noidea:

Yes, Zayit, that's her.

Frankly I had never associated her with Christianity? Had never heard that she was one, and due to her persona, I would never have assumed it, and I STILL DON'T.

The fruit isn't there.

God bless you Zayit for not dwelling on the site too! :noidea:

I in no way hate JS but my point was to show people how easy it is to fall away from your beliefs because of fame. She to me is a hypocrit. In one breath she yells at her husband for going to a bachelor party with strippers but at the same time, her new video she looks and acts like one. Uh!!!! It is with anyone. Pet peeve!!!

Just a thought the bible says not everyone that says Lord,Lord will enter into the kingdom of God. These are the words of God or Thus Sayeth the Lord in which many refuse to say anymore. As far as Jessica Simpson goes if people didn't give her an audience she would have to change the way she dressed an acted. The Bible says you will know them by their fruits they bear. As christian families children shouldn't be submitted to the things she is doing. What does it profit a man in this case a woman to gain the whole world and to loose their soul. So many today use the word christian flippantly or just because they were dunked or their parents religion that they are alright there is but one role model and that is Jesus Christ. There are artist that sing and give glory to God but they are glorifying God more than themselves. The things we allow children to see and hear does affect them.

That thought goes along with something I read recently about Hollywood wanting to cash in 'on Christian films. After they saw the huge success of Mel Gibsons Passion, the dollar signs are all they can see. That is their god.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
