It is amazing that the 'homogenaity' of various peoples' minds is so complete. If we are talking about 'just' individuals' imagination. Way too cohesive to be truly independent really. Gnostic beliefs seem to promote what you are saying. Gnostic thought lends itself to most every thought that is not of God (Yahweh) and so embraces just about anything that opposes Him.
