My wife and I moved into our current home on the 16th November 1992. We are coming up on 27 years living in the same place so we are settlers. Prior to that we spent 5 years & 9 months in a smaller dwelling.

As a single man I was more of a nomad, itinerating between different centres of population for a number of years, but upon taking up a government job in hydro-dam construction, I was in a workingman's camp for 3 years & 8 months.

Whilst being raised at home with parents and family, all of 17 years from birth, we made 3 moves with the longest stay in any of the 4 places I lived in being 6 years (1962 to 1968, aged 9 to 14).

Have you been a nomad for most of your life, or a settler?

I'm a NOMAD in this world!

This world is not my home I'm just passing through
my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue
the angels beckon me from Heaven's open door
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore

O Lord you know I have no friend like you
if Heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do?
the angels beckon me from Heaven's open door
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore

They're all expecting me and that's one thing I know
my savior pardoned me and now I onward go
I know He'll take me through though I am weak and poor
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore

Just up in Glory Land we'll live eternally
the Saints on every hand are shouting victory
their song of sweetest praise drifts back from Heaven's shore
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore

I have a loving mother just over in gloryland
And I don't expect to stop until I shake her hand
She's waiting now for me in heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore

O Lord you know I have no friend like you
if Heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do?
the angels beckon me from Heaven's open door
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore

can I have the source for that please?

It's an old hymn. I posted it on another post but don't remember if I noted the source. It's widely available on the internet and YouTube. There are many really good versions, check them out, enjoy and God Bless

I've had my fair share of both. I enjoy travel but between the two I'd prefer a stable, settled life.
