I just became a vegetarian about 3 months ago and it's a struggle sometimes but I know that in the future it will be worth it. I wanted to know if there were any veggie's on this forum and if so could you supply me with some recipes 'cause I'm starved :):):):)

I have plenty of recipes, as long as you are a dairy Veggan? Tell me what made you make this choice of dietary change?

Well my church encourages it(but most of us don't follow it all of the way). It's called NEW START

1) Nutrition: The vegetarian diet is the best way to lose weight and keep it off, improves health, decreases disease, promotes longer life, and is more economical.

2) Exercise: Very important for physical and mental health. Exercise lowers the heart rate and blood pressure, controls appetite, burns up unwanted fat, increases circulation and oxygen intake, improves muscle tone.

3) Water: Your blood is about 90% water and it carries nutrients to and from cells. The kidneys must have adequate water to filter out waste products. Many times common constipation, headaches, and backaches can be relieved simply by drinking sufficient water, which is 6 to 8 eight-ounce glasses per day.

4) Sunshine: One of the most healing agents of Nature. Sunshine forms vitamin D in the skin, destroys bacteria and viruses, increases available white blood cells, lowers blood pressure, and lowers cholesterol and fat levels in the blood.

5) Temperance: Temperance (self-control) is having a totally healthy and balanced life- style in every way. It includes the proper ratio of work and relaxation, time for God, right eating and right thinking.

6) Air: We are greatly benefited by negative ions which occur in fresh outdoor air. Breath deeply of fresh air to increase quantities of oxygen.

7) Rest: Every cell in the body expends energy. Rest helps us re-supply these cells with the energy they need. Rest can be quiet physical relaxation or vigorous exercise after mental work.

8) Trust in God: God has given us the power of self- government, which is the freedom and ability to make decisions. We are unable to change our hearts, but we can choose to trust and obey God, and He promises to work in us to give us the desire and power to live in harmony with Him. By choosing to trust and obey God, a total change will be made in our lives. We then will receive His power and strength, and we will live a life of victory!

I'm working my way off the milk and eggs EVENTUALLY, but for now its what's keeping me sane.... :)

I'd be more than happy to read and borrow your recipes. Thanks a lot. :)

I'd love a cheeseburger right now also  .........but I gotta stick to my guns. I've had days where I was ready to just jump back on the train and just eat the things that I liked. But then later on in that day I'd get over it. I can still taste those burgers and fried chicken and steaks and turkey sanwiches and.................AHHHHH!!!!!!

I'm back. Give me a ceasar salad with a side of croutons. And an apple for good measure. :P

Once again....It's a personal thing for me so no one has to worry about me beating them over the head with what's right and what's not. Umm.....my mouth is watering Zayit, get back to me today so I can experiment when i get home ;)

There is no guarentee you will loose weight being on a total veggie diet.

it might help, but the real deal, is discipline.... instead of eating the douple quarter pounder, eat a regular burger...

we have dropped all beef, and only consuming pork and chicken....

as far as health benefits, the best would be something no on has seen for quite some time...... MANNA.....

How about a grilled chicken sandwich instead of a burger at all?

I totally agree that discipline is the answer. Remember, if you eat more calories than your burn on a daily basis you will gain weight. It is simple mathematics.

Lean beef (top sirloin, round steak, filet mignon) can be eaten on occasion (once every week or two).

I would avoid pork at all costs. Pork is rough on the system.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
