Is dancing wrong?

As far as the Ecclesiastes verse -

Keep in mind that among the Hebrews, men and women didn't dance together as couples.  I'm not even sure if men and women danced in the same circles.

men were on one side of the room and women on the other.

it was not until recent years ( with in the last hundred plus ) that it became acceptable for men and women to dance together at such events.....

look up the history of the Israeli wedding dance and some of the others such as the almond harvest dance and other festive dances.

if a person has ever watched Fiddler on the Roof, you might see how it was done in the days gone by.

How about line dancing? It's probably the biggest turn off I saw in the 90s

I love to dance. My husband and I used to go dancing quite often when we were first married. I don't believe that all dancing is good or that all dancing is wrong. It all boils down to what is in the heart. Just like anything else...walking can also be made out to be very provocative if one lets it. Just my 2 cents.

Funny you should mention this. A couple of days ago, I met with an old friend who has been majoring in dance. She mentioned how the waltz was considered taboo when it first came out because it involved two unmarried people holding each other close as only a married couple should.

I see nothing wrong with dancing. The Hora, Tango, breakdancing, Irish Stepdancing, russian, or German. Any type of dancing. It's good excercise. It's in the Bible. Personally I don't enjoy dancing. But when it strongly simulates sexual acts. The line has been crossed.
