Repent comes from the Greek Word “ metanoia” which means “ change your mind”......One must have a “mind change” in regard to the Gospel to be saved. You change your mind from thinking you do not need a Savior, to realizing that the Savior ( Jesus Christ) is the only hope you have Of Salvation.Unbelief in Christ becomes Belief in Christ— if one has done that , they have “ changed their mind” .....they have Repented in the manner in which God demands for Salvation......

Why would anyone want to sin? Perhaps it is fun.....perhaps it feels good.....Even the Bible proclaims That sin is “ pleasurable”— but ONLY “ for a season”. That last part is the part Satan trues to hide when he is trying to tempt or entice one into sinful behavior . No matter how you slice it— you can’t sin and get by.

If a person thinks they've repented, but haven't repented of their sin, then I don't think they've repented yet.

  • Huh? I don't get it. 1

I agree that the sin to be repented of is relying on ones own righteousness, or guilt over sin as if those things ever saved..We are to turn away from US and rely on the finished work of Christ. A " sinnets prayer", a date, feeling sorry are not strong evidences of salvation. What you are saved by is what you are kept by. And since Jesus says He's the only one whose hand a Christian can never be plucked from it is Christ who saves and He who keeps. Even Satan believes in Jesus.. Repentance is more..it's a reliance on the imputed work of Christ who has made the Christian a new creation and sealed with the holy spirit for that day! Christ is the only anchor that does not fail; the only foundation that survived the storm. Don't build you house on sinking sand.

Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

  1. In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song
    This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone! - who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath,
    Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

Brilliant....will you marry me?    Lol....

Does  this song/ poem have a name?
