Ovedya, there is little to say that will not start the usual hate republican bashers and hate democrat bashers........ maybe just maybe we are all tiring of it.

This whole subject is of such great importance that I personally don't want to take the chance of having people make decisions before we know all the details.

Which is why I try to find articles that strike a "happy medium" if I can.

I think that the media is at least half the problem here, however. I personally do not believe that the Rove issue would have been as great during a Democratic presidency. Perhaps the Republican party itself would have been screaming from the pinnacles of Washington for Rove's head, as the Dems are now; and I have no doubt that they would, but that's expected. Who's looking at the liberal press as the culprits of most of the controversy, however?

The intense grilling that White House reporters inflicted on presidential spokesman Scott McClellan Monday over whether political guru Karl Rove leaked the name of a CIA operative was no ordinary give-and-take. It was a hostile hectoring that revealed much of the mainstream press for what it has become: the opposition party.

While I don't think the press really does its job this is hardly partisan. If a senior whitehouse official did leak the name of an oprative people want to know.

The press should always question the administrations actions no matter who is in office.

They certainly did with Clinton although nopt loud enough IMO.

The press's job should be to report on the truth, which in 99% of cases they do. Whether someone is a democrat or republican has no bearing on the story if it's the truth.

And I would hardly grant the liberal press that much leeway as to reporting the truth!

You certainly don't know whether he did or not, and neither do most people until there has been an investigation.

The real question is will there be an investigation.

Last I looked a member of the liberal press was in jail for protecting her source.

Can you name any major stories with the exception of tabloids and the Dan Rather bit which were published and were false? Not to mention CBS apologised after finding their story was false. That's more than I can say for Fox News.
