"So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come."
Matthew 12:31-32 (ISV)

Sin. Rub out the first and last letters,

and you have “I” – or carnal self –

the root of sin.

Matt 12:23 The crowds were astounded and asked, “Could this be the Son of David?” 24But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “Only by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons, does this man drive out demons.”

Those Pharisees were face to face with GOD IN THE FLESH and they still accuse Jesus as followers of Beelzebul out of their wickedness and jealoussy, because those Pharisees' God is their own stomach actually, its their wickedness that make them unforgiven.

I agree.

Moreover I grieve at how 'I' has become so subjugated by the flesh.  I am a temple of the Holy Spirit.  I am made in God's image.  Although I was born in original sin, I house the potential to be a vessel, a carrier of the Word, the Presence, the Power of God.  And yet, because sin entered through flesh, my flesh is so vulnerable, and I am so susceptible to sin.

Ultimately, it is 'I' who decides whether to succumb to the flesh or to obey God.  I bear the responsibility of sin before God, not my flesh.  My flesh is just a very vulnerable house in which 'I' live.  Not to lay blame, but it was Eve, and Adam, who by their disobedience allowed sin to enter through the flesh, making it so vulnerable and weak to the point where God said in Genesis 6 that His Spirit would no longer strive with man for his only flesh.  His being so corrputed to the point where he is just a walking vessel of sin.  Imagine what we have lost, and how much, by inheritance of our parents, Adam and Eve.

And yet, imagine what we have gained!  Not just a revived spirit, but God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit, dwelling in us!!!  Praise God for His marvellous work for restoring the 'I' in me back to its original place and position in Him, to be a vessel.  Everything that God has created is good. That includes you and me and all human beings.

And so if we do sin against His Spirit, that which restores us back to life, we refuse it, thereby negating it.  So how then can we accept that which we have refused?  How then can we be forgiven of that which we won't acknowledge?  Both from God's perspective, and man's, the point would be completely null and void. 'I' and not my flesh would bear the responsibility.  Therefore 'I' would not be forgiven, having negated the very One who would lead me to conviction, and therefore repentance, and therefore forgiveness.

I hope I am making sense  Bless you!

Yes, Zion, you are making perfect sense.

Thank you for your comprehensive response.

But how were you able to compose your thoughts

in such a short period of time...minutes? !

Hehe, I guess these things have been on my mind, of late.  Particularly the fact that Jesus is the ultimate fulfilling of the prophecy that is Isaiah 55:11.  That hit me like a lightning bolt just recently, and has shifted my perspective on many things simultaneously and in such a glorious fashion.

All glory to God - can it really go anywhere else?  :emot-highfive:

To R. Hartono,

My "take" on this is that it exhibits PRIDE on the part of the Pharisees.

And PRIDE has been called the "greatest of sins".

Not because it's worse than, say, murder, but that its tenacles

extend to almost any sin we commit.

Oh my goodness, yes!  I had never thought about it in that way before.  Of course, many of the sins there are have their root in pride of some form.

So, naturally, it sets itself against grace and forgiveness even more than all the other sins.  The person under its influence figures they don't need anything like that - too proud :noidea:

What we would do without a God of grace I have no clue!

Many people ask if they have committed this sin, and they are so fearful and worried.  I tell them is you care, you haven't committed it, you are not beyond the forgiveness of God, because if you had committed it, you would be dead as a rock inside...devoid of any care or presence of God. It not something you stumble into

In context of that scripture of sinning against the Holy Spirit was because they said that Jesus was casting out demons using demonic powers and not by God.  They were associating the work of the Holy Spirit which Jesus operated in as a demonic spirit.  Jesus said this sin can never be forgiven.

How is this applicable today?   The bible speaks that God gave certain gifts to people by the Holy Spirit such as prophecy, healing, miracles, gift of diverse tongues, gift of discernment, gift of knowledge and wisdom.  When people are operating in the Holy Spirit and  when people accuse them of operating by demons they have blasphemed the Holy Spirit which gave them that gift.

In context:

Mar 3:22-30 NLT - But the teachers of religious law who had arrived from Jerusalem said, "He's possessed by Satan, the prince of demons. That's where he gets the power to cast out demons." Jesus called them over and responded with an illustration. "How can Satan cast out Satan?" he asked. "A kingdom divided by civil war will collapse. Similarly, a family splintered by feuding will fall apart. And if Satan is divided and fights against himself, how can he stand? He would never survive. Let me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man like Satan and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger--someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house. "I tell you the truth, all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. This is a sin with eternal consequences." He told them this because they were saying, "He's possessed by an evil spirit."

1Co 12:7-11 NKJV - But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit [of all]: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another [different] kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
