Effectively, in application of course, Luke 21:34-36 applies to Christians.   Who will be the ones taken in the Rapture.

Now Douggg,

We well know that there was NO Body of Christ to whom Jesus was speaking only the people of Israel with some Gentiles in the crowd. However there was NO Body of Christ at that time or even known of, just Jews and Gentiles.

Jesus does not talk of the Body of Christ to them for He, Jesus does not reveal it to anyone till the Apostle Paul. So the 4 gospels have great truths BUT they DO NOT reveal the revelation of the BODY OF CHRIST. If Satan had known that revelation (of the Body of Christ) then Satan would NOT have killed Jesus. (1 Cor. 2: 7)

` ...hidden wisdom of God.....which none of the rulers of this age knew, for had they known, they would NOT have crucified the Lord of glory.` (1 Cor. 2: 7)

...mystery of the church, (Body of Christ) which in other ages was NOT known to the sons of men...` (Eph. 3: 5)

 

Thus Luke 21: 34 - 36 does NOT apply to us as the Body of Christ was NOT known then.

I am not sure of what you are saying, but Luke 21:34-36 applies to Christians, to not get distracted and be looking for the rapture, to escape having to go through the great tribulation.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Remember that was said to the Jews & Gentiles there when they `see Jerusalem surrounded by armies...` (Luke 21: 20)

Whereas to the Body of Christ, the Head of the Body says -

` But you brethren are NOT in darkness that this day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light..` (1 Thess. 5: 4 & 5)

Those who are in the Body of Christ are of the `light.` Plus we are `worthy` because of Jesus` sacrifice. Worthy, worthy, worthy, praise the Lord. I don`t have to `pray always that I/ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things...` (Luke 21: 36)

Israel & the Gentiles at that time of Jerusalem being surrounded will certainly need to pray that they may be accounted worthy to escape those things.

When the function of "Christ" in the text of the bible changes - then the Antichrist could be a muslim.

Mark 15:32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

The Jews did not reject Jesus because they rejected for not being an Assyrian.    They rejected Jesus from being their messiah, the promised King of Israel, descended from King David.

A muslim is not qualified to be the Antichrist.    Neither is the Pope, papacy.

The Antichrist function is to be the King of Israel, coming in his own name, instead of and against Jesus the rightful King of Israel.

What would God care for some muslim departing his faith some day and claim to be Allah?   Allah is not the God of the bible.   (Isaiah 14:19-20)Why would God kick the soul of some muslim out of hell, because he destroys his land and slays his people?    The person has to be a Jew.

19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

Coming in his own name - as opposed to Jesus who came in the name of the Lord.

John 12:13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

To be the Antichrist, coming in his own name, to be the King of Israel - the person has to be a Jew.    He cannot be a muslim.

The confirming of the covenant for 7 years is not a peace treaty.     It will a speech made to the nation of Israel, by it's leader at that time, the Antichrist, who will refer to what Moses's instructed of all future leaders of Israel to do on a 7 year cycle.... regarding land of Israel, God gave to the children of Israel, as theirs forever.

In Isaiah 14:19-20, after the Antichrist has betrayed the Jews, and aligns himself with Satan, by doing so he destroys his land - the land of Israel, and slays his people - the Jews.

I don't know what passage you are referring to - but the person, besides being the King of Israel (descended from David), at other times is the King of the Roman Empire (descended from the Julio-Claudians).

Marilyn, separate issue.

I have made over 10,000 posts with Jews at their sites, primarily Messiah Truth yuku site.   One of the things I have noticed is that they are very proud of being a Jew - to a flaw.    To even suggest that the Antichrist of Christian eschatology be a Jew - they get highly defensive of their ethnicity, that no Jew could do such things as the Antichrist.

So my question is - have you ever heard of a Jew (a messianic, or Christian) espouse that they think the Antichrist will be a Jew?    I can't think of anyone.

Joel Richardson - is a Jew, which imo, is one reason that he advocates a Muslim Antichrist.

In Dan. 2 we read of the Great Image. And here it is being destroyed by God who then sets up His kingdom rule through Israel. So any rulers of the world rulers of this Great Image are all GENTILES. It is the end of the gentile rule over the world.
