I noticed that no remarks have been made about my last post to this thread, especially with regard to the pictures. Doesn't it bother anyone that this level of so-called "devotion" is given to Mary?

It is funny that site that you linked to has links off it, one which says "TRUTH" under a picture of a head down dead Jesus, That is certainly not the Truth, that is what HaSatan wants propituated because he hates the fact that he has been defeated and Yeshau/ Jesus is ALIVE FOREVERMORE!!!!!!

Reading some more one of Many pages devoted to Marianology I came across this official church proclomation by PJPII -church proclaims Mary, mother of g0d (edit)

Following the example of the ancient Christians of Egypt, let the faithful entrust themselves to her who, being the Mother of God, can obtain from her divine Son the grace of deliverance from evil and of eternal salvation.

Just how she can do it is not explained, but my question to you is, why is it needed, or why does she have to?

I had the same thoughts when I went to the site. That picture and the Pope's bent cross staff pushes my buttons....

the prayers i posted were copied directly from a catholic website page that provided a list of "common catholic prayers". there was no preamble. whether or not one should have been included, it does not change the prayers themselves, which clearly are in opposition to scripture.

i appreciate the scripture references. it appears that i'm being accused of casting the first stone and passing judgement. i'm not judging anybody here, i'm judging a doctrine which teaches unbiblical doctrine according to the righteousness of God's own word. no casting stones about it. furthermore, until that last two posts, everything i've posted has been done with gentleness and love. those here who prescribe to the RCC doctrine have not responded to gentleness and love as displayed here earlier by me, and throughout the thread by numerous other people.

i find it rather interesting that catholics frequently accuse non-catholic christians of being unable to recieve the full truth, or however it was worded earlier. the bottom line is, God's word is the only source of truth, and yet the RCC version of "truth" is based on so many other writings other than the Bible. enlightenment doesn't come from man-made doctrine, enlightenment comes only through the Holy Spirit in accordance with scripture alone. nothing added, nothing taken away. in fact, scripture warns strongly against adding to the word of God. with that warning in mind, i wouldn't dare base my understanding of God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit upon anything that is not straight from the Bible itself.

OVEYDA... i'll comment on those pictures.... i find them every bit as disturbing as those prayers i posted earlier. all depict an ungodly devotion to mary.

one last thing, if i may. i've seen a lot of discussion here regarding the saints, also. according to scripture, all we who believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, all we who are born again, are saints. we don't have to wait for five years after our death to reach sainthood. it is appropriate to ask the saints to join with us in prayer, given that the saints, according to God, include those of us who are posting in this thread.

now, assissi and christina... i totally disagree with you and others regarding mary. however, i apologize for having let my frustration get the better of me and coming across as rude. my 17 year old is in a high risk pregnancy and on pelvic rest, and was experiencing extreme pain yesterday, and her doctor could not fit her in to his schedule. it had me very edgy, to say the least. we ended up spending more than six hours in the ER later yesterday evening. please accept my apology for the manner in which i expressed myself.

Grace to you,

Christine,

We do not allow the links to Catholic Apologetics becasue it doesn't line up with our Statement of Faith as read above. No fear in Christ Jesus.

If people wish to investigate that stuff? They know how to punch up Google. :24: We do not allow the links from this site to places where Doctrines cannot be refuted directly from the Word of God. We are accountable for the flock.

It's sad tho, cuz no one here will ever come to know the full Truth that Jesus Christ teaches in the Gospels.

Just who makes clear the Gospels for you?

No more Apologetics links please. :24:

P.S. Despite the fact that you didn't like the way that Lady C asked? You didn't answer the question? Are those prayers and devotions prayed to Mary herself?

Peace,

Dave

I have watched FR John Corapi in EWTN and he repeatedly makes references to us asking our "mother" to help us with issues of sin and intercession. There is a mixed message coming out of the Catholic faith. They want to say they are not praying to mary, but then statements are made that lead me to believe otherwise

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
