Thanks everyone for checking out my personal look back in time and commentaries of The Beatles.

Here's a few photographs throughout the years...

Several months ago I saw an interesting TV show where Paul McCartney took a talk show host around Paul's hometown.   Paul was talking about all of the old memories when he and John Lennon lived there....they were best friends.

Paul even pointed out the church where he and John went as young people.

They visited Paul's humble, small home...the current owner let them in!   Paul showed the tiny bathroom where he would sit and play the guitar in there for acoustics.   It was really not much bigger than the toilet area.

I can't remember everything but Paul spoke lovingly of his dad who encouraged him in music.   Also, he said his dad had wanted them to change the "Yeah, yeah, yeah" in their first hit song.   He laughed that if they had, maybe history would have been different!

By the time Paul and the host left his childhood home, there were fans already gathering outside.

There are statues of the Beatles in the town.   Some tourists were posing by the statues.   Paul went over and surprised them, and posed with them.

Anyhow, he seemed very nice and was appreciative of how he had been blessed in his life.

Hi @Debp,

That sounds like a great Beatle-hosted documentary. Wish I had seen it. I remember reading how John and Paul used to jam with their first inexpensive guitars in the bathroom. (the loo) It supposedly had good echo like acoustics! Charming stories also. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing this. I had no idea there were statues of the group in their hometown of Liverpool. Nice! I'll have to do a search on that. God bless.

David.....we need to talk.....I have been an absolute Beatles NUT since 1963..... In fact, although many have come before with their B.S.—- “ I” am the True “ Fifth”  Beatle! Haha!    I saw them Live in Cincinnati back in 1965......tickets we’re about $4.00..... show was 25 minutes long after sitting through hours of a bunch of nobodies......of course, you could not hear them perform.....nobody seemed to be upset by that - I know I wasn’t...... strangely enough , the show was inside “ Cincinnati Gardens” in August with no air -conditioning and I’ll never forget how HOT it was......

Some thoughts......Thank Goodness they did not bow out with “ Let it Be”.... it was Lame by Beatles Standards and Abbey Road was a Masterpiece.....glad they finished on a high note....

James Corden hosted the show where Paul visited his childhood home.....it’s on YouTube ....interesting....

My favorite Beatles Song is “ Dear Prudence”.....I love how it starts out so simple and builds to something much bigger......loved the drums at the end.....did not know for  a long time  that Paul was doing the drumming on that and a few other songs because Ringo had “ quit” the group.....Donovan taught John how to play the guitar for the style he used in this song......and of course , I will not insult you by asking who the real “Prudence” was......lol......Beatles 101...... haha....

They went to the Crossroad, ...signified in the second album cover in the first post.

Thanks for letting us know.   @BeauJangles check it out!

I also saw The Beatles perform, I think it was 1964 or so.   Was at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh.   I was sitting in Peanut Heaven...I think my mom ordered the tickets late!   Couldn't hear anything but screams.   But you know how kids are....big deal to attend a Beatles concert.

The singing.....the instrument playing.....their wit.....their hair-cuts .....their looks.....none of it would have amounted to a hill of beans without the songs..... that is why we are discussing them today and NOT “ The Dave Clark Five” or “ Jerry and the Pacemakers”......to paraphrase James Carville, Clinton’s former Campaign Manager—- it’s the MUSIC , Stupid!  Lol.......

To watch them grow over the years ......every album a pleasant surprise as they showed that they were always a step ahead of everybody else and alway strived to grow in their craft .....they could have relaxed, and cranked out album after album of simple love songs and continue to rake in the money....but their intelligence lead them to be quickly bored with the same old stuff and that was , to a very large degree , the impetus for them to always be pushing the boundaries of Popular Music... like all true Artists, they did the things that pleased THEM......NOT necessarily the audience.....About the time they were REALLY advancing and maturing in their song-writing skills, I had an older sister that declared in her “ Beatle Book” that she was going to shut down said book because the boys “ No longer had the Beat”.....that was about 1966.......  lol.....
