That is true but asking Jesus Christ into our lives and being obedient are just as important.

Being obedient is repentance. Yes, establishing a relationship with the Lord would seem to me to be the most important thing of all, and we need to recognize his authority. His authority stems from the fact that he is all-knowing, all-powerful, and motivated entirely by love.

You seem to understand missmuffet, what  JTB is saying, and I do not.
Just what do I not understand about;

"Heaven begins the moment we repent of our sin"
         and
"We can't understand until we repent."

I believed heaven was eventually my home, not here on earth, with trials and tribulations etc.
I understand a (heavenly feeling) fellowship with my creator when I have victory over sin, or confession.
But do not believe I'm in heaven, nor find scripture to support it.
Just what is this heaven that "begins after we ask Jesus Christ into our life to be our Lord and Savior"
Thanks.....

I don't think heaven begins until we physically get there. Earth definately is not heaven. But when we ask Jesus Christ into our life and we become a genuine born again Christian we have the privilege of eternal life and going to heaven when we are raptured or when we die. Once we become a Christian our sins are forgiven in the past, present and future. Although I daily ask for repentence of my sins. As humans we sin everyday.

Every born again believer in Jesus Christ had to repent to be saved.
In your quote, Jesus said;
"repent" or Change your old thinking, untruth-darkness,  to the NEW understanding, truth-light.
Repenting (change thinking-direction) of sin, also comes after becoming a child of God, being obedient to His word.
Every believer does this, at least to some extent.
Just was trying to understand what you were trying to mean, JTB.
Thanks for your post.

It takes time to learn what sin is. When we find out, we need to repent.

Reading the passage of scripture in your post...it is hard to find anything that justifies the statement..

("We will continue to experience trouble till we repent of our sin.")

And

("The Lord told us to repent. Those were not empty words".)

When this event took place Jesus was not "Lord"...

He was a Rabbi to people and to his disciples...if not why they Call him Rabbi....

This event took place before the Cross...Jesus did not have any Gentile as his disciple and he never said to any Gentile to repent...not that time but even trough out his ministry...he gave this mission to his disciples...that's why he called Simon..Peter...the Rock...the foundation...Peter giving the Gospel to Gentiles beginning with the Roman Solder Cornelius..

What a strange even...the people in General plan to give death to the Romans...and the Glorious Jesus plan how to give them Eternal Life...

*Jesus was inviting the Gallilians to repent-in that event... and not the Jews...the Jews had John the Baptist to asked them to repent and make strait their way to welcome the coming of the Messiah...

This message had the included message that the coming Christ is without Sin...Holy...asking the people to be Holy to welcome their Holy Messiah....in their time...in their generation...this was in their teaching...when they hear this message the Messiah will come in their time...

The same message from Jesus to the Gallilians without the baptism...and from John to the Judea with the baptism...

If you referred to the instructions Jesus gave to his disciples after the Cross...to repent in his name...not in the name of the Law...

In his name...because Jesus knew that the Holy Spirit will come to lead people to repentance...as it sees fit at the specific time to ask a believer to repent from something...that time is hidden with the Lord...

One time I heard a Pastor say...the Holy Spirit...he could have said... the Lord...or Jesus...is telling me that they are many people in this congregation who have justified their doing not to talk to one another...then he stoped the preaching right that moment...and he asked all the congregation to come forwards and pray for one another...

He never mentioned the word "repent"...but asked everyone to pray about that....he gave the people their privacy...but on their own the people gave their promise to leave the past behind and greet one another as if they had met for the first time....

One man said...his wife talked to him looking in his eyes after a long time and told him "you are welcome to my bed again....

The next year the church experience a record of child dedications...

Jesus loose their grudges...against husbands and wives...

The Lord told us to repent. When we repent, we will discover why he told us to do so.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
