Tears are mentioned frequently in our FATHER's Holy Word, yet the "Tear bottle" is mentioned only once, though perhaps it is alluded to in a number of other passages.  Curious "me" wondered why and asked of the HOLY SPIRIT.

In Psalm 56 David prays, "Put thou my tears into thy bottle" (v8).  If any of you have ever read this particular psalm you probably noted the heading indicates that it is a prayer of David, commemorating the time when he fled from King Saul and had been captured by his nation's worst enemy, the Philistines.  He had already been anointed king of Israel, but had not yet ascended to the  throne.  I believe the experience out of which this psalm grew was difficult for David, and his prayers, and tears were numerous.

He cried to GOD in this difficult time, and his prayer was accompanied by tears.  Ever been there before?  I know I have!!  Such experiences ARE NOT uncommon to HIS people today!!  Our prayers can bring tears...actual tears as well as inner tears of agony.

The expression, "Put thou tears into thy bottle" seems unusual to us, yet I've found during research that in Persia and in Egypt, tears were wiped from the cheeks and the eyes of the mourner and were stored in a tear bottle, where they were carefully preserved.  The custom was probably based on the belief that  these tears would prove to GOD that the person had been righteous during his/her lifetime and that GOD would mercifully reward them.  That such a belief existed seems to be substantiated by the fact that the individual's tear bottle was buried with them at death.

During David's imprisonment among the Philistines, he did not have a tear bottle of his own.  Thus, he asked our FATHER to store his tears and to record his sufferings and sorrows and that HE would not forget his tears.  I'm often reminded of GOD's statement to Moses regarding the suffering of HIS people in Egypt:  "I have surely seen the affliction of my people...and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows" (Exodus 3:7).  Believe me....our LORD/SAVIOUR is aware of WHATEVER is going on in your life which is causing sorrow!

It will be wonderful when our FATHER wipes away all our tears, never to be seen again.  Why?  Well I believe it is because we will forever be in HIS presence, where there "shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain" (Revelation 21:4).

I don't know about you, but I get excited everytime I see this verse of Scripture.  Tears and tear bottles will be discarded forever!  Today when you feel as if HE is trillions of miles away from you please keep in mind that HIS arms are wrapped around you even in the most painful situations.  HE accounts for every tear you've ever shed and stores them in HIS eternal bottle.  Praise HIS holy name!!  Don't be discouraged by what appears to be overwhelming oddds, whether at work, home or at play...we serve a mighty GOD who loves us deeply.

:noidea: thank you Wisdom for that morsel. I can tell that it came from your heart. We can never count our tears, be the Father can and He does. I guess He has a very large bottle for some of us.

Hello Eric..... :noidea:

TYVM for the kind words and a keen spiritual eye.  Our FATHER is ALWAYS before us in every situation/endeavor we Christians endure in this lifetime (Romans 8:28).  Our tears can be joyful or sad, but HE knows of each drop released by our eye ducts.  I sincerely from deep down in my heart believe once you and I arrive home we will then understand it all and thank HIM for "calling" us to HIM.

Please never forget that we serve a MIGHTY GOD, who knows all, sees all and is in all things with the purpose of fulfilling HIS will! (Colossians 1:16)

Hello Wisdom,

Thank you for posting that uplifting article, yes, only God know what is deep in our heart, and I think He might even fill the bottle up with all the tears we don't cry, because  sometimes we get so hurt or upset by this world and what happens arounds us that it seems that we can't even cry the tears with well up in our heart.

God bless you and I'm glad you're back!!

Hello Angels.... :thumb:

You are so very, VERY right!  Even the most "macho" of men cry "silent invisible tears".  Some matters in this life become so gut wrenching we think no one cares, yet for the Christian this doesn't prove to be so.

Our FATHER loves us so deeply that it is beyond our comprehension.  Whether it is tears of anger or tears of joy, I believe HE stores them all.  When you then look at how huge the body of CHRIST is and then include the mass population of the world.....it's an AWESOME thought, isn't it??  That is....that HE remember this about every individual in the world!!!  :noidea:

It's quite humbling.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
