The 'SIN' is that of unbelief and turning back to the Judaic system of sacrifice.. that puts to death Christ anew and angers the Spirit.

We can chose BELIEVING LOYALTY, like Naaman and the Widow of Zarephath, or like those in the Colossian/Hebrew churches, we can turn back to the old system or gods we know not or no gods at all. It is up to us.

Never let ANYONE tell you that God chose some to destruction. This is a horrible and pernicious and demonic lie.

The times when the  disciple wrote this brief was the time of transitioning of calling the Israelites and the procilyties out of the Law of Moses and into the faith of Jesus Christ. 

It was a very trying situation for many of the Jew believers...

They may be the only believer in a usually big family with very strict  centuries old family traditions....

They were just like fish out of the water...and treated like strangers in their own family...they were a people without a family....

This is why many were turned into secret believers...

I am sorry but historians and archeologists agree that we can be certain about many face in the NT and one central fact is the resurrection.

If it did not happen, if the historical evidence does not confirm it then as Paul wrote in Corinthians there is No Christianity.

 

Even atheists like Bart Ehrman confirm the minimum facts of the resurrection, so it strange that an atheists believes more about the Bible than you do.

Jesus had chosen disciples who follow him and were with him for quite some time....they were witnesses to real facts and they told us most of the things that happened with the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan by John the Baptist....

John the Baptist ministry was foretold in the prophecies ....and so were most of the events that happened to Jesus Christ....

Including his miraculous birth as in the prophet Esaias and as Jesus explained to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus...he  said to them that in the volumes of the book is written for me...and the Psalms and the Law...

And his miraculous life and the miraculous life of his disciples doing great things in his name were the witnesses about him that he is the promised Christ..the Messiah...

And the Holy Spirit....

That time no one question his existence because they were witnesses who lived thousands of them...and the testimony of the priests and the Pharisees who were boasting that they have crucified Jesus positively identified him beyond a reasonable doubt...

They were together with the leadership of the Romans at that time his most positive witness that Jesus Christ was the one who died on the  Cross...the Roman guards were also the witnesses of his resurrection...

The disciples began preaching of the things they show and witnessed them selves..  

Even outside forces gave the testimony that Jesus is the Son of God and they bowed down to him...

Even those who practice divinity knew about that things were shaken and what Paul and the other disciples preached about Jesus and the knew Heavenly Inheritance in his name that were truth...

If someone in Judah circulate the news that Jesus was not the one on the Cross...the Priest and the Pharisees will deal with him harshly even put him in Prison...maybe the Romans also who were the witnesses even unto Ceasar about the  events that took place...bringing Paul before the Roman authorities who had done the crucifixion and recorded it in their books and they cannot lie as everything happened not in secrecy but in front of thousands of people...

Today after the  end of the RC empire separating it self from the state...people are free to make money by publishing anything they want...

There is "freedom of speech "....and after two thousand years we have the arhaiologist to provide proof from what they find...attempting to convince those who may doubt....

As it was through out the years it is also today.

Those who have the fellowship of the wholy Spirit they do not need anything else to convince them...they are alive to him from this life...

But we also need to help those who have been doubting and have fallen in the hands of some manipulators the enemies of the Gospel who have enter the faith as double agents....who pretending to believe to later return back to  their non Christian roots....

But to the surprise of many...some of those double agents they found the Lord and they became preachers of the Gospel...

Which I may know someone who is from a certain non Christian background who on pretences became a Christian as to be a model and be use as a poster man of someone who leaves his traditional non Christian faith and then he returns back to his roots.   

We need everything that is available to help those who are in searching to find Jesus Christ...everything that can help....

AND WE ALSO HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT..

Don't we read in the Torah where God spoke everything into existence?   And in those creations was life forms.  You cannot have life without death somewhere in existence.   And if God was the Creator of both life and death, shouldn't believing the same God in human form would be able to Resurrect?   If God created life and death, God has power over both.   Resurrection should be a gimme.

You are looking at the Bible with post new testament eyes.

The Jews in biblical times were not looking for a suffering Messiah and had no concept of a dying and resurfacing saviour.

Yes your reasoning is correct, but in seeking to understand scripture we have to seek to understand how those who wrote it and first read it would have understood it and see whether what they understood was similar to how we understand it today.

David told God He would not leave his body in the grave.   There had to be some understanding of death-burial-resurrection for David to be able to write this.   And the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible, man just inked it.
