Peter was not preaching the redemption of the cross as Paul does. He was preaching the resurrection of Christ to give Israel assurance that he was risen to return to establish the kingdom on earth to Israel.

I did not say that it was the "first gospel".  I said that it was the first mention of the gospel.

I stand corrected...I see what you are saying....see if I get it right.....there is only one gospel progressively revealed....I see this as being the gospel of God/the gospel of Christ.

Peter and the twelve preached the name of Jesus, that he is Christ, the Son of God......this is all Israel had to believe for eternal life (John 3:16-18 John 20:31).

Paul also preached Jesus as Christ, the Son of God, but it was revealed through him that Christ died for our sins and rose again for the justification unto eternal life for all that have faith in him, his blood and the redemption of the cross. We don;t just believe in his name we believe the gospel delivered by Paul.

Looks like Death-Burial-Resurrection to me!   You see what you only want to see.   Try accepting the Holy Spirit into your life and see how it's supposed to mean!

Looks like Death-Burial-Resurrection to me!   You see what you only want to see.   Try accepting the Holy Spirit into your life and see how it's supposed to mean!

The cross and the resurrection was in the prophets and psalms (Acts 3:18 Acts 2:27). Peter was convicting Israel for the Crucifixion (Acts 3:15) and commanding they repent of it and know Jesus was Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36) and would return (Acts 3:19 3:20).

Paul preached the cross for salvation ;Peter preached his name for salvation (Acts 3:16).

So when we think of Christ we do not think of the Cross?  What does the Cross mean, you know, other than SALVATION?   Try again!
