True, although I must add that I am quite pleased with the results as they are.  However, I will edit the title slightly. There is always room for improvement.

You know Henry, a few more people might have been interested, had you mentioned Bob Dylan in the title. I had no idea who you were talking about, maybe I am not alone. After all, my album does not say Robert Zimmerman on the cover!

Most die-hard fans are pretty well aware of Bob Dylan's true last name in the similar respect of knowing Ringo Starr's name is Richard Starkey. All the fun you've missed out on the thread. There's much of interest here for anyone who enjoys or did appreciate his musical contributions and efforts towards the music and entertainment industry. Being awarded the Pulitzer Prize was quite an accomplishment in and of itself. My mom God rest her soul, and I were always fond admirers.

I did not realize that this thread was intended for die hard fans. I thought maybe it was about his music, not entertainment trivia. I knew who Richard Starkey was, just as I know who Marion Robert Morrison is. It is fine, however you guys want it, it is not a complaint, I just thought that perhaps people would like to participate about people who chose mot to use their given names. It was just a suggestion, and I see that it was noted and adopted.

For those who do not know, you can skip the Google search, Marion Robert Morrison is better known as John Wayne.

I guess alternate names have gone back a ways historically. Sometimes they were used to hide ones race or gender. Sometimes, people just get nicknames. Simon bar Jonah comes to mind!

In the music industry, there is of course the  three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; "Slow Hand", though I am not sure how he got that name.

The manager of the Yardbirds gave Clapton that nickname in 1964. Whenever Clapton broke a guitar string in concert, he would remain on stage and replace it. English audiences would wait during the delay giving Clapton a "slow handclap." :)

Speaking of Clapton, he's famous for a stint with Derek and the Dominos. According to various sources, he was seeking to escape the fame associated with his name.

You and I probably saw them on the same tour when they began to premier Even in the Quietest Moments. This was a fantastic concert at the height of their career. the next LP, Breakfast in America, began veering away from what had been more of a progressive album oriented classical/folk/rock sound and like Genesis, went for commercial radio mainstream pop hits. I stopped my vinyl collection after Quietest Moments and lost interest which previously was pure fandom. Both of these prog bands ended up a huge disappointment to me. Money screams doesn't it?

I think Breakfast in America was my last Supertramp LP.  I actually like Invisible Touch from Genesis, but it definitely was the beginning of the end for them as a group.

Neither did I. It was understood by the opster's standpoint to discuss and post the lyrics to Bob Dylan's songs. Favorites were top choice. What's yours if I may ask?

You would probably find this to be evident by taking a closer examination of the main theme of the thread. Skimming topics miss major points when your attention is diverted into too many directions.

Some find multi-tasking tediously exhausting, others thrive on it. This is how today's society is gearing itself. Those found incapable are then deemed obsolete. What trivia?

You are aware how topics easily become this = :off-topic:

I found myself likewise obsolete having been an analog audio/visual tech in a growing and thriving digital world. Welcome to the club of aging children. You are not alone in this respect.

I'll have to give that some thought. I thought his lyrics were very good and often interesting, but I often wondered "Who told this guy he could sing?" LOL. I was never deep into him, I generally liked his songs when other people sang them. The fact is, when Nashville Skyline came our, I thought: "Well, he can sing a little when he tries!"

He was not alone in that respect, it took a while for Rod Stewart to grow on me, but I eventually got to like Him.

I think Dylan was in many ways comparable to Leonard Cohen, in that his voice was also not great, but the lyrics we good and interesting. I'll give Dylan some more thought (if I can remember) and get back to you!

More off-topic news. Popular power trio lead vocalist and bassist for the power ballad UK band The Outfield, Tony Lewis passed away suddenly at age 62. I had followed this group since beginning in 1985. When their debut LP Play Deep was released, they hit mainstream rock stations with their infectious and tight vocal harmonies with Say it Isn't So and Your Love. They continued making hits well into the 90's. This deeply saddens me.

Tony Lewis, Lead Singer Of The Outfield, Dead At 62

Lewis was the voice behind the 1986 hits like “Your Love,” and “All The Love.”

The Outfield frontman Tony Lewis, whose distinctive high-pitched vocals can be heard on ’80s classics like “All The Love,” “Say It Isn’t So,” and the enduring smash “Your Love,” has died, according to a statement released Tuesday morning by his publicist, Bari Lieberman.

He was 62.

Lewis is the second founding member of the powerpop band to pass away, following primary songwriter John Spinks’s death from liver cancer at age 60. The cause of Lewis’s death was not revealed at press time.

“It is with deep sadness and sorrow to report that Tony Lewis, singer of the ’80s rock band the Outfield, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away yesterday, October 19th, at the age of 62 near London, England. Tony’s music touched people around the globe for decades,” read Lieberman’s statement. “Lewis and the late John Spinks took the ’80s by storm with the Outfield’s infectious pop songs, including ‘Your Love,’ ‘All the Love’, and ‘Say It Isn’t So.’ ’Your Love” reached No. 6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart in 1986 and is still widely known today, with features in various TV spots and commercials, gaining millions of streams each month.

“Tony Lewis’s legacy will live on forever through his beautiful family and his legendary music. The family requests their privacy during this difficult time.”

Lewis was born Dec. 21, 1957 in London’s working-class East End neighborhood, and he formed the prog-rock group Sirius B with friend Spinks when they were teenagers. Although that band broke up in the early ’80s, eventually Lewis and Spinks reconnected and formed the Baseball Boys, who later changed their name to the Outfield.

Upon its release in 1985, the Outfield’s debut album, Play Deep, was a hit, although the band enjoyed much more success in the U.S. than they ever did in their native Britain, where they remained relatively unknown.

Play Deep sold 3 million copies and went to No. 9 on the Billboard 200 in the States, largely on the strength of “Your Love.”

That song has since been covered or sampled more than 1,000 times, notably by Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, B.o.B, Less Than Jake, Wyclef Jean, Lloyd, and Morgan Page, and it was also the inspiration for a memorable Saturday Night Live skit featuring a cameo by HAIM.

Three other tracks from Play Deep, “Say It Isn’t So,” “All the Love,” and “Everytime You Cry,” also cracked the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100.

The Outfield released five more albums at a sporadic pace — 1989’s Voices of Babylon, 1990’s Diamond Days, 1992’s Rockeye, 2004’s Anytime Now, and 2011’s Replay — but when Spinks died in 2014, Lewis took a hiatus from his career to mourn.

He eventually returned to music, collaborating with his wife Carol on the 2018 solo album Out of the Darkness and reforming the Outfield to play various ’80s-nostalgia package tours. He released an EP earlier this year, Unplugged – The Acoustic Sessions.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol, his two daughters Gemma and Rosie, and three grandchildren.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
